Koha Master Running on Win32 Platform

For anyone who may be interested, I've the master branch of Koha running on Windows XP. I have documented steps which should be reproducible on the wiki [1] for anyone wanting to have a go at it. I'd love to see someone else be able to have a try. There are a few changes which must be made in to code. I will push my work up to my public git repo sometime this week so you can grab them there until I have time to submit them for inclusion in master branch. This is somewhat of a winding, long-term, no-definite-end sort of project for me, so if you want more, you're welcome to jump in and help. I'm not sending this to the user's list because it is by no means intended for general consumption and is still very pre-alpha. Many thanks to Curtis Jewell and the folks who maintain Strawberry Perl [2] for adding a number of key modules to help get Koha running under Strawberry. Dear All KOHA experts, We are a Digital Library in Kabul Afghanistan (www.acku.edu.af) currently we are using Greenstone Database for our online library management system (http://www.nzdl.org/gsdlmod/cgi-bin/library?a=p&p=about&c=acku&l=en&nl=1%3E) but it cannot support many features and enhancements required! Therefore, it has been a high concern for our management to sort this issue out by any possible, professional and very standard solution, please find the attached for our new database specifications and wish list. Below are few points for which we need your kind recommendations and suggestions! 1) Depending on our wish list, maybe it is recommended to use an Integrated system (Greenstone and KOHA) so that to get best features out of both systems. 2) Upgrade of Greenstone’s current version (http://www.nzdl.org/gsdlmod/cgi-bin/library?a=p&p=about&c=acku&l=en&nl=1%3E) into new version so that to support our attached requirements. 3) Migration into KOHA. Our main concern: As we have already discussed with some database professionals, one of the main issue is to run KOHA or may be integrated system on Dari and Pastho two Afghan languages, some of them were not ready to do the translation! Kindly enlighten us by your kind suggestions and recommendations on any system you prefer so that to help us running the project independently or if you can help us on Translation of database into to Dari and Pashto languages! Problem with Koha to MARC correspondence

my greetings, I have defined a correspondence between a new field (userid) in biblioitems table and the MARC Bibliographic records(tag 001 Número de control), but, when I insert a new record, the field "userid" is not corresponding with tag 001 value's, it have 0. Sorting >1000 records

Hi all, Does anyone of you know why search results of >1000 records are not sorted well? Is this a zebra limitation? Should I update zebra for that? I am running idzebra 2.0.43 and yaz 3.0.49 with Koha 3.3. Thanks, Marcel

I think stable repository will have revisions 3.4.0, 3.4.1, 3.4.2 ... dev repository will have last build package (containing nearly last source revision). But I see that bug 6713<http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=6713> is not yet integrated. Patch is just send. It will need testing and integration before it is integrated in GIT then debian package. You will have to integrate manually this patch. It is not so difficult. Read it to apply it on source. Remove lines begining with - and add lines begining with +. Unable to get patches .. "detect duplicates not working"

Can any techies help? I know that the detect duplicates was patched (thank you for patching it) .. We used apt-get. However, I did update the packages last week and we are as current as can be. Here is the installed version: KOHA_INSTALLED_VERSION=3.05.00.011 I just tried to do the following: sudo apt-get upgrade yaz sudo apt-get upgrade zebra sudo apt-get upgrade koha sudo apt-get upgrade I get the same result each time: koha-koha@WW-R-ITLWDW1K5M:~$ sudo apt-get upgrade Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done The following packages have been kept back: idzebra-2.0 idzebra-2.0-utils libidzebra-2.0-dev libidzebra-2.0-mod-alvis libidzebra-2.0-mod-dom libidzebra-2.0-mod-grs-marc libidzebra-2.0-mod-grs-regx libidzebra-2.0-mod-grs-xml libidzebra-2.0-mod-text libyaz4 yaz 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 11 not upgraded.
