Hi all, After suggestions of Janus and Frere Sebastien, I revised the patch for bug 6094 (ModAuthority fix). This patch now creates records in a new need_merge_authorities table when the pref dontmerge is set to Do not automatically update biblios. The cron job merge_authority.pl picks them up, applies the merge and marks the records as done (comparable with zebraqueue). If the pref dontmerge is Do automatically update, the table is just empty. Advantage of this approach: We do no longer need to discuss where to place the files for merging authorities. All permission and security issues around that are eliminated too. File organisation within release tarball

Dear all, Have some questions on naming of the release tarball, and organisation of files within it. I am not sure if this has been discussed before; at least, have not come across a discussion in the archives. 1. A really math question. Why does a file named koha-3.04.02.tar.gz extract to "koha-3.4.02"?? Did I get my math wrong? On a related note, when I run koha_perl_deps.pl, I am told that Graphics::Magick is only 1.3.12, while the required version is 1.3.5. This is with 3.4.2. 2. Am I the only one to feel that files are really scattered within the source directory (the one we get when we extract the tarball)?? 2.1 For a start, why not move al those INSTALL* files into a INSTALL directory within the source directory? 2.2 In the installed directory (the default location - /usr/share/koha), rebuild_zebra.pl is not really a migration tool. At least, it currently is not. Time to move rebuild_zebra.pl to bin/cronjobs? >From what I have read about it, bin/maintenance/remove_items_from_biblioitems.pl is a migration tool. Or have I understood it wrongly? (INSTALL wrongly mentions its location as misc/maintenance/. The correct location ought to be bin/maintenance/ . -- Mahesh T. Pai ||

This patch suits both master and 3.4.x, and would improve the running of packages on Ubuntu in particular. Newbie's Question on Translation

Hi Mates, I just do not find tutorial/how to translate koha-community.org site. I did ask google, but there was no good answer nor on koha-community.org pages. I'd like to provide a Bahasa Indonesia[0] page of koha-community.org as well as our friend has already done on Spanish[1]. AFAIK. It seems like I have to build on dedicated server like Tomas did[2]. Am i wrong? Or Could it be easier to just using Wordpress tools[3]? Thanks in advance. [bug 6458]: need some help for a parsing problem in 'misc/translator/TTParser.pm'

Hi, I have problem with bug 6458 (http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=6458) I will resume the problem (as the bug report is "historical commented" and the problem not clearly pointed at the beginning): Currently, the translation parser (use to apply po files) don't support template directive *in* tag. For example: <tagname attr1="value1" templateText attr2="value2" ...> is interpreted like: <tagname attr1="value1" templateText="templateText" attr2="value2" ...> This occurs rarely in templates, and generate a problem *only* when translation replacement occurs *also* in this tag. Here a case not generating problem (in 'opac-user.tt'): <tr[% IF ( overdue ) %] class="overdue"[% END %]> No problem, because a bad-parsed hash is not used, as the element contains no translated string, so the tag isn't rewrited [see 'tmpl_process3.pl': function 'text_replace_tag', rewrite occurs only if $translated_p]). Here a case with problem (in 'sco/sco-main.tt'): <input type="button" value="Renew Item" [% UNLESS ( renew ) %] name="confirm"[% END %] class="renew" onclick="this.form.confirmed.value='1';this.form.submit();" /> TTParser read as: tagname=input attributes = { type = "button", value = "Renew Item", [% = "[%", unless = "UNLESS", %] = "%]", ... } And as the value attribute is a translated string, this bad-parsed hash is used to rewrite the tag, resulting: <input value="Renouveler document" name="confirm" unless="UNLESS" %]="%]" renew="renew" end="END" )=")" type="button" onclick="this.form.confirmed.value='1';this.form.submit();" class="renew" (="(" [%="[%" /> which is not a valid template... and TT produce a blocking error. So what to do ? 1. works on TTParser.pm, in order to include case for DIRECTIVE in tag element ? (lot of work for rare occurences) 2. works 'tmpl_process3.pl' for change the rewriting style of element (not using the parsed hash, using regexp for example) ? (not a strong method, and need some works too) 3. discard the use of Template DIRECTIVE in tag element ? (adding a test case for report incorrect use of template *in* tag element, or a check in TTParser reporting "unallowed template form") 4. discard the use of Template DIRECTIVE in tag element which contains translated string ? (same before, but more complex to implement) Personnally, I prefer the 3 (or 4) choice... but what is your opinion about this ? 3.4.x String Freeze and Roadmap Update

Hi all, The monthly 3.4.x release is a few days behind schedule. As of 0000 UTC 20 June 2011, 3.4.x is in a string freeze. 27 June 2011 will be the date of the 3.4.2 release. At this point the only patches that touch strings which will be accepted are blocker and security fixes. Non-string patches will still be applied up to the date of the release.
