I misunderstood the difference between copyright and licensing (as in the GPL) and for that reason - and the fact that the 3.2 is so different from 3.0 - I will be re-writing the 3.2 manual from scratch (which will also force me to review every single section in more detail). For right now I'm about to update the version that is in Git to include LibLime in the copyright tag (since it does include content from the old 3.0/3.2 manuals). For the future, I will be the main copyright holder on the manual and when the Koha Foundation is formed I will sign my copyright over to the Foundation as I don't think any one company should own the copyright - instead it should be community owned (feel free to keep this email so that you have documentation of my promise). Other copyright holders will be ByWater Solutions and BibLibre and anyone else who helps me write bits - or contributes their documentation for me to include in the manual. I hope this is acceptable to all - I think it's the best way to support the community and the best way to force me to make sure ever 3.2 feature is accurately documented :) Thanks everyone for your understanding and support so far, Nicole C. Koha Manual in Git

I have some awesome news. As you know I'm working with both ByWater and BibLibre. Well thanks to BibLibre, we now have a git repo for the Koha 3.2 Manual: http://git.biblibre.com/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?p=kohadocs;a=summary -- and I'm working on converting everything (and updating everything) over to DocBook so that it will be much easier for translation and publishing in multiple outlets. What you'll see in the repo so far is a few images and the start of the docbook file. I am working on it daily to try and get all of the content over. You'll probably see me asking questions so that I can improve on what was written so far - and fill in gaps. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated!! Biblio adding error

Hi, This should probably go to the win32 forum but all the same .. Just done a windows install of koha 3 (with strawberry perl) get the error below when adding books The following fatal error has occurred: Can't call method "fields" on an undefined value at G:/koha/prog/src/C4/Biblio.pm line 1923. Apache Server version: Apache/2.2.11 (Win32) Server built: Dec 10 2008 00:10:06 Koha 3.01.00.061 Koha DB 3.0100061 MySQL mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.45, for Win32 (ia32) OS Windows NT ... 5.2 Build 3790 (Service Pack 2) x86 Perl 5.008009 Saw a similar post in the forum ( http://lists.katipo.co.nz/public/koha/2008-December/016248.html ) but no resolution .. KOHA and computer reservation software

Hello, (I'm posting this to more than one KOHA list - sorry if you get multiple copies) I work at the Grand County Public Library is Moab, UT. We are a Liblime customer and we have been using KOHA in our library since May 2009. We would like to know if there are any libraries that are using computer reservation software integrated with KOHA to manage patron sessions on their public computers. Please email my library director - Carrie Valdes at carrie(a)moablibrary.org with information about what you are using and what level of pc management it provides. If you are not currently doing this, but would like to be and you are interested in this as a development project please let us know. We've been told about a very basic open source computer reservation software option, and we are also considering non-open source products like the reservation software from Envisionware. I'm getting ready to leave on vacation until Nov. 2nd and I will have unreliable email access while I'm gone. So, please direct emails to my library director until November. Upgrade Koha/2.2.9 to Koha/3

HI all I am looking for doco on upgrading a Koha/2.2.9 install to Koha 3. Well, actually just the database. I note this from the INSTALL file: UPGRADE ======= If you are upgrading from a previous installation of Koha 3, you can use the following: perl Makefile.PL --prev-install-log /path/to/koha-install-log make make test sudo make upgrade Searching the wiki.koha.org doesn't turn up any more info about the upgrade process. Could someone pls point me at some more info about this? Hi Everyone One of my colleagues from work is off to a git get together, and Is asking if anyone has anything they really wish was different with git. I said I would ask the koha developers as we have used git for a while now. So any suggestions send them my way and I will pass them on to Sam. [3.0.x] Errors in english system prefs

Hi to all, I have found errors in standard english system prefs file, data/mysql/en/mandatory/sysprefs.sql I have write a bug about it http://bugs.koha.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=3712 This is valid on for 3.0.x I want to try to fix the bug. So I need info about some system preferences: -- FrameworksLoaded This preference is created and updated by web installer ? I think yes but i'm not sure at 100% -- ReceiveBackIssues -- maxItemsInSearchResults Those two preferences are present in the code, but not in cgi, templates or API files. Are they present now only for a future use ? Could you explain their use ? --- AmazonCoverImages, --- AuthDisplayHierarchy, --- OPACAmazonCoverImages --- ReadingHistory Those four preferences are present in the code and also in cgi, templates and API files. I think we need to insert them in data/mysql/en/mandatory/sysprefs.sql What do you think about it ? Yes, the previous problem was solved, indeed... I do not understand why I have so many problems installing koha,.. maybe the last years I was too used to Joomla! installations :D So the challenging koha that its concept I so much admire and embrace makes me face another problem.
