questions about koha

Dear Koha developers, I am running to test koha virtual mashine on my desktop also traing to install koha for server. 1. I would to ask about currencies and exchanges rates perhaps our country's currency rate is like 1 USD = 1452.xxx(our currency) but koha is only 99.xxx inputs for field. how i can change it ? 2. We was translated the koha languages po files to our languages. But I don't know that to copy for where is located language po filess in koha directory structure ? 3. if someday have time for remote installation for ubuntu based server, i can support root password for volunteer. it will be useful for us ? of course, I am running to set up koha following guideline fro wiki.koha.org. but some problems i have. many thanks, -- Gana

Feature freeze

Hi, In preparation for the IRC meeting later today, I would like to clarify the ground rules for the feature freeze on 6 September. Basically, my intention is that by the end of the day on 6 September (you get to pick your time zone), all features for 3.2 should be submitted to the patch queue. In order to accommodate last minute work, by submission I mean any and or all the following: [1] Patches emailed to koha-patches. [2] Pull requests emailed to koha-patches [3] A simple statement to koha-devel stating the availability of a published Git repo from which patches can be cherry-picked for inclusion in 3.2, even if you're not quite at the point where it could be pulled into a topic branch at the main repository. [4] Smoke signals, carrier pigeons, ham radio bouncing of the moon, or the like communicating to me the availability of finished patches. In other words, my goal is to allow flexibility, not set a super-hard deadline - the point is to identify all new features that are substantially complete, even if they may need some (or a lot) of polishing. Once the deadline passes, new features meant for 3.4 or later will go on an unstable branch while master will be reserved for integrating 3.2 features. Integration of BibLibre features for 3.2

Hi Galen, I was wondering where we are going with 3.2 integration : - i've submitted 79 patches for new_acq some months ago. What's the status of those patches ? We have made some/many improvements, that have not be submitted anywhere yet (it's on our local repo). I would be very happy to submit them, but don't know where to put them yet. - the other features are on http://git.koha.org/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?p=Koha;a=shortlog;h=biblibre-integra… There are a lot of patches all around, and I was wondering how/when they are supposed to reach 3.2 repository. I think delaying too much integration of patches results in slowing the release. BibLibre faces a lot of added work to deal with multiple repository (we have one for new_acq, one for other features -sponsored by Aix-Marseille Universities-, one for 3.0.x, ...). And, more important probably, the community suffers from not knowing exactly what has been done and how. I think what we should do now is : integrate all our (BibLibre) patches into the 3.2 repo as soon as possible, open widely the repo, and let everyone play with it ("Release Soon, Release Often"). I'm sure other developers from Chris C. to PTFS, Tamil, PTFS-Europe, ByWaterSolutions,... will be very happy to test & play with all those patches. If some other people have "finished" or "almost finished" features, they should be added as well. Question/Suggestion for Development

With all of the new system preferences we've been adding and those that have been asked for, I'm wondering why we don't have check boxes for preferences instead of just ON & OFF. An example: For Amazon we have a bunch of preferences : AmazonAssocTag AmazonCoverImages AmazonEnabled AmazonLocale AmazonReviews AmazonSimilarItems AWSAccessKeyID AWSPrivateKey Why not change it to AmazonAssocTag AmazonEnabled - and choose from AmazonCoverImages, AmazonReviews, and/or AmazonSimilarItems AmazonLocale AWSAccessKeyID AWSPrivateKey I thought of this when I was thinking of people asking to have preferences to show different messaging options and to have the ability to decide which tabs are visible in the OPAC on the patron record. Instead of having 6 on/off toggles for each type of message that patrons can receive why not just one preference with 6 check boxes - pick which ones you want. The same for tabs that appear on the patron record in the OPAC? Seems like a nice way to consolidate our system preferences and make it easier down the road to allow for customizations in what shows and what doesn't. I'm just wondering if this was ever considered, if it's possible, or if it's just a silly suggestion :) Thanks Nicole
