Hi to all, yesterday I have installed the last git version of Koha 3.0.x on an Ubuntu 8.10. Ubuntu 8.10 uses perl 8.10 but I don't find the bug 2309. I can insert items without problems. Probably the bug 2309 is solved by the recent operations on XML modules ? TinyMCE Changes Discussion + Initial Patch (part of discussion re: distribution size)

All, I am not sure the proper way to do this, and I hope someone can assist me formalizing and sending this patch to the patches list, or to a maintainer directly -- TinyMCE is only (as far as I can tell) being used for the help editor. This is a 3mb package that is copied to every language specific directory (making the distribution large!). I moved it from: /koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/en/js/tinymce to: /koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/3rdparty_js/ --- a/koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/en/modules/help/edithelp.tmpl +++ b/koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/en/modules/help/edithelp.tmpl @@ -1,6 +1,6 @@  <title>Online Help</title> -<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/tiny_mce.js"></script> +<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="/intranet-tmpl/prog/3rdparty_js/tiny_mce/tiny_mce.js"></script> Instead of just moving tinymce, I removed version 2.x, and downloaded 3.latest into the new directory. These patches end up being 800k in size. I also have a question as to how the Makefile needs to handle this change that I hope someone can assist me with. Koha Codebase Size?

All, Has there been any discussion about trimming down the size of the Koha distribution? The issue it seems isn't the code; but rather items such as TinyMCE being copied into every template directory, and the /misc/ folder is rather huge. It seems as though the 47mb tar file could easily be 20-30mb. Stan

About Javascript translations

Hi all, We saw the javascript files(.js) are not translated. In fact, only .tmpl and .inc strings are exported in po files. Some developers added some strings to be translated in javascript files (Like "Cart" button in OPAC), so when we translate in french, there is no translation for those strings. I looked up content of tmpl_process, xgettext.pl, TmplTokenizer and saw that only <script> tags are parsed as javascript. I tryied to patch it quickly to try parsing .js files as "<script>" content, but it seems that is more complicated it seems. To port Koha on Windows

Hi to all, Reading the wiki page http://wiki.koha.org/doku.php?id=en:installation:win32:koha_3_win32_install… it think that there problems on the use of perl module XML::LibXSLT. I think it is a must for a working Koha 3.0 on windows. Is it so ? I probably have a light budget to pay a very skilled C developer to fix the problem. Is it useful ? Are there others problems to have Koha 3.0 on windows ? binmode in pler scripts for utf-8 support

Hi all, I ran across this bit of randomness today: binmode STDOUT, ":utf8"; It occurs in only three perl scripts in Koha: ./circ/ysearch.pl ./misc/sax_parser_test.pl ./reports/guided_reports.pl Should this binmode setting be executed in all of our perl scripts to provide correct utf-8 support? Hi All, I am assistant librarian in haramya university, Ethiopia. We are currently using koha 2.2.9 on windows. The cataloging module including the MARC works fine for me But I have problem in adding new patrons... It properly validates the data (Mailing Address,Last Name...) but it does not really hold the patrons information. Is there anything I need to change in memberentry.pl or which the koha table ...
