Hello I've been working in one of the teams of the Plone Koha contest and i'm writting to ask if there's any news about the result of it. We're also very interested to get feedback in our proposal http://contest.hanning.name/skin3, when we do this kind of products, usually takes a couple of iterations to get the customer satisfied and we thought it was a good idea to do a liquid-generic-flexible-enough layout in case you want to change colors or other kind of details but besides the discussions we read on the lists we didn't get any feedback and for us the contest is very important, so we would like to do the possible to push or help to close the contest, no matter who the winner is. Display book jacket image without Amazon help

Dear Friends, I would like to insert book cover images without depending Amazon. We work with Koha 2.2.9. I tried http://lists.katipo.co.nz/public/koha/2006/009892.html as per this old posting in Koha List. But this method work successful with Koha 2.2.5. I tried this method with Koha 2.2.9 with some modifications. I created a folder in our website space to deposit images as below. <img src="http://www.ourwebsite.com/P/.jpg" alt="Book Cover Image" /> But this does not working. Koha only take picture from root directory? as in <img src="/opac-tmpl/npl/en/images/P/.jpg" alt="Book Cover Image" /> I request your help to solve this problem. about maxItemsInSearchResults system preference

Hi to all, I see that the system preference " maxItemsInSearchResults" was deleted from installer/data/mysql/en/mandatory/sysprefs.sql But it is still present in admin/systempreferences.pl. Announcing: Koha 3.0 Stable String Freeze

Hi folks, Another quick update -- all of the translations except one have been validated (and I'll ping the translator for that translation to see if the team can fix some problems with it). I've updated http://translate.koha.org ... and now can officially declare a string freeze for 3.0. This means that you translators can update your translations on http://translate.koha.org in anticipation of the final stable release. I'd ask that you wrap things up by June 30th ... if that turns out to be too soon, let me know and I'd consider a week delay if necessary. If your translation is not listed, PLEASE EMAIL ME ON-LIST and I will add it. So ... once again, thanks to everyone for all your hard work, we're almost there! Let me know if you have any questions. Koha 3.0 Stable Release Plan

Hi folks, I've done an audit of the outstanding bugs in Bugzilla and have found 39 are marked as blocker, major, or critical: http://tinyurl.com/5hysmf There are an additional 157 marked 'normal': http://tinyurl.com/5apjsy Galen and I discussed the blocker, major, critical issues and concluded we could address them with a concerted effort before Monday, June 16th. I'd like to set that as the date for releasing 3.0-stableRC1, then do a string freeze, to allow translators to wrap up any changes to translations, and then a final 3.0-stable on July 1. I do request that those of you using and programming Koha take a look at the outstanding bugs in both categories, and flesh out any issues in more detail where you can -- and if you feel a bug in the 'normal' category should be prioritized, please speak out. Thanks to everyone who's contributed, even in small ways, to the major improvements to this new version of Koha. I have submitted essentially these same patches. I made a new syspref "EnhancedMessagingPreferences" to turn them off. It defaults to off. I'm hopeful that once this feature becomes a little more complete and stable I can eliminate that. Large patch series for bug 2000

Hi, I have submitted a series of patches to fix the blocker bug 2000. Since the patches are extensive, I wanted to point them out, not just rely on people catching them on the patches list. The bug has to do with the separate admin scripts for editing fines rules and loan rules. Since both scripts edit rows in the issuingrules table but don't directly tie the fine and loan rules together, it was possible for a user to subtly misconfigure their circulation rules. For example, if a user creates a loan rule for a default patron category, then creates a fine rule for a more specific one, the new fine rule will have an empty loan component that silently overrides the first loan rule. Please read the patch description for the complete details, but here's a summary of what I did: * made some improvements to smart-rules.pl (the "alternate" circ rules editor) to allow it to replace issuingrules.pl and finesrules.pl * created several new database tables to store maximum allowed checkouts across item types without having to rely on a special interpretation of the wildcard character in issuingrules.itemtype * clarified how issuingrules is searched: when trying to find a loan rule for a given branch, itemtype, and patron category, Koha now searches for the most specific rule that matches, then looks for less specific ones.
