biblio search problem: 2.2.9 to 3.0 upgrade

Hello All, first, I want to thank the very helpful people who work on this project. I've come to appreciate how complicated libraries are. I started using Koha 2.2.4 in 2005 and have looked forward to 3.0 for some time. I have followed the instructions at http://wiki.koha.org/doku.php?id=22_to_30 I think that has been part of my problem, because I didn't realize that some of the instructions applied to unimarc, while I have marc21. I've added one Marc Record as a test and that is the only one that shows up in any search results, both on the intranet and the opac, even though I have over 5000 other items. That search result gets me to http://stam.library.admin.test/cgi-bin/koha/catalogue/MARCdetail.pl?biblion… I can view other items by manually changing the biblionumber in the address bar URL. However, it seems that only 100a shows up in the marc data for any other item except the one added after the upgrade. Also, the value of 100a seems to be incorrect as it is always the same "Personal name 20080208 frey50". I was browsing through the database tables using phpmyadmin and came across this warning: "PRIMARY and INDEX keys should not both be set for column `biblioitemnumber`" in Database: Koha > Table: biblioitems Is this something that should be changed? thanks for any help you can give me and for your time, Matthew Metzger

perl module problem - 2.2.9 -> 3.0 upgrade

Hello, I am attempting to move a 2.2.9 installation to 3.0 alpha. I'm almost there, but there seem to be a few problems. I have worked to install all the required perl modules and made sure that they were up to date. However, http://stam.library.admin.test/cgi-bin/koha/about.pl says that the XML::LibXSLT and YAML::Syck modules are missing. However, I know for sure that they are installed. cpan[6]> install YAML::Syck YAML::Syck is up to date (1.01). cpan[7]> install XML::LibXSLT XML::LibXSLT is up to date (1.66). The intranet makes me log back in after every link I click within it. I cannot yet search the OPAC, but it is probably an unrelated problem. thanks for any help you can give. -Matthew

Hi, Attempting to get Koha running on MacOSX 10.5.1 . Got everything going except three perl modules all of which look important. It feels like I'm frustratingly close to finding out how nice Koha is, but can't quite get there. Koha and OAI-PMH [announce]

Hello the list, In France, there is a network of schools called "Ecole des Mines". They are 5 schools. Two of them are using Koha ("Ecole des Mines de Paris" and "Ecole des Mines de Nantes") The network wanted to have a collective resource access, and they have decided to develop OAI-PMH module for Koha. It's done, I have the code in my mailbox. I'll submit it quickly to git repository (the code is very clean and doesn't affect anything in the rest of Koha. Just 3 new sysprefs and a script called oai.pl + 2 modules) So you can consider Koha 3.0 will be OAI-PMH compatible. Enjoy. Setup question

First off this 3.0 ROCKS - so far in setup things are much cleaner than with 2.2.8. I am going through my 3.0 setup and in the Administration - System Preferences - OPAC Features - Suggestion - I see a value of 1. Explanation If ON, enables patron suggestions feature in OPAC. in th eKOHA internal - Variable type is - free, variable options is blank.(also the grey area above this box says Texarea - rather than Textarea. I assume there should be some ON|OFF type options? The MARC data is stored as a blob in biblioitems, so you could just mysqldump that table ... there are also some utilities in the interface in Tools -> Export Bibliographic and Holdings Data; as well as some command line tools that do the same thing in misc/ directory. So ... we need to figure out why your zebra configuration isn't working well, could you tell us a bit more about your environment? Also, I'd suggest we take this discussion to the koha-devel list where more of the technical questions tend to get hashed out (I've CCed your question to that list). Problem with misc/sax_parser_print.pl

Sorry to be a newbie on this, but I believe I have everthing else working but there isn't a file like this in my install. So when I do my make test it is throwing errors everywhere. It is indicated to edit the ini file... OK so I don't understand what needs to be edited. The file is currently empty. Did I miss a step or ? Thank you for your attention, I want to test and help but have stumbled!
