hi..... the catalog search is not working properly i can search only by item type ,branch and barcode (in marc turned on and in marc turned off) any solution????????/ shebina

A new document has been loaded on http://www.kohadocs.org: "Installing Koha on Fedora" by Joshua Ferraro. It is available there as a DocBook XML source tree, as well as a html version and a pdf version derived from the xml source. Weird behaviour?

Hi every body !!!! Hope you had enjoyed christmas.We have some things that are not clear, maybe you can help us. Our library has two branches, each branch has in it's collections books, magazines, CDs (audio and software) and and Video recordings (mostly VHS, some other formats). We are using frameworks and modified the bulkmarcimport to make it aware of the frameworks. Now when we catalog a new item koha uses the proper framework. We noticed in the OPAC search when we look for a video that the director's name doesn't appear, and some anoyances like that. Since the mapping between Non-Marc and Marc are unique I can't stablish different bindings for different kind of item, the author of a book goes to a different field that the director of a movie. Is anybody expiriencing something like this ? any suggestion? Thanks Andres

2.2.0 official and online help

Hello koha folks, As announced, the official 2.2.0 should be out on january, 3rd or 4th. There is a little thing missing in our preferred ILS : ONLINE HELP The parameters section is done (thanks to nelsonville guys) The member section is done (thanks to BWS johnson) The new modules are documented (serials & for example, thanks to me) Catalogue is partially done Acquisition is not done So if some of you have a CVS of 2.2.0RCx installation somewhere and some minuts, don't hesitate to write some help. Post it on this mailing list or on the wiki (www.koha.org/wiki) i'll take care of it when i'm back Just be carefull some help exist on the CVS that is not on the wiki. If you have a 2.2.0RCx, you have all the existing doc, except member section that has been provided recently by BWS johnson. If you are subscribed to the Koha list, you've seen the announcement of the new website for holding Koha documentation: http://www.kohadocs.org. After a frustrating session with CVS, and considering that the Koha documents are hard to find in Sourceforge anyway, I decided to set up this site dedicated to Koha documents. While the site has the advantage of being much easier for me to maintain, and much easier for the user to find the documents, the disadvantage, of course, is that all changes to documents will have to go through me; however, since I have developed a standardized structure for the documents as I have been working with them, and would like to maintain that standard, I don't see this as being a problem. The site contents should be easy to transfer to another location, should that ever become necessary. I still have a couple of documents waiting for author approval, and a couple more which I need to edit and return to the authors for approval. same barcode number

I was browsing the logs of my apache server looking for errors in our installation. I've noticed that mod_perl was complaining aboit a missing template on search.pl I've downloaded the latest version from CVS but the problem is still present. I've looked on the template directory but there's no template with date name (maybe renamed?). where it says: = get_template_and_user({template_name => *"search.marc/result.tmpl"*, *search.marc/result.tmpl *should point to the right template.* *Andres* *

2.2.0 Roadmap

Hi Koha fans, Chrismas & new year approches, so, i wanted to share with you the roadmap of Koha : * today, i'll release Koha 2.2.0RC5. Fixes a few problems, and adds few features. * I'll be away of the web from tuesday 21 to january, 3rd. But don't worry, i'll continue hacking a little bit Koha. In fact, i plan to do 3 things : - write scripts to migrate a library that will adopt Koha in 2005Q1. - write a DOC to explain deeply how to migrate datas from XX to Koha, and tune all Koha parameters (authorized values, authorities...) to have a perfectly working cataloguing tool. Will be in french, so translators fr => en are welcomed. - "copy" improved virtual shelves tools into OPAC. * On January, 3rd, for my return, unless there is a major problem appearing, i'll release official 2.2.0 !!! This date has been choosen because it will be the 5th birthday of our preferred ILS. A great date, really. TECHNICAL info : i'll create a new branch in CVS for 2.2.0 on january. Until then, please, just commit bugfixes and/of minor improvements in the HEAD branch. At least, commit NOTHING that needs a change in the DB. printing circulation slips

Hi there all! I need some guidance about printing circulation slips with Koha... Id need Koha to print a slip every time an item is issued... and, more important for our borrowers, every time an item is returned... Is there anybody printing such slips? How must I configure my Koha server so the clients could choose a printer locally connected to them? I've already created one default Printer (lpr) and turned on printing on system preferences.... and now... what? Thaks in advance! :) -- J.
