Hello, We (Addis Ababa University Libraries) have insatalled Koha 2.2.0RC1 on solaries OS. Now we are trying to add items to the biblio but it accepts the same barcode number for different items. Can any body help us? Cheers, Yohannes Mulugeta Addis Ababa University Libraries

BUG in search.marc/search.pl

I was browsing the logs of my apache server looking for errors in our installation. I've noticed that mod_perl was complaining aboit a missing template on search.pl I've downloaded the latest version from CVS but the problem is still present. I've looked on the template directory but there's no template with date name (maybe renamed?). where it says: = get_template_and_user({template_name => *"search.marc/result.tmpl"*, *search.marc/result.tmpl *should point to the right template.* *Andres* *

2.2.0 Roadmap

Hi Koha fans, Chrismas & new year approches, so, i wanted to share with you the roadmap of Koha : * today, i'll release Koha 2.2.0RC5. Fixes a few problems, and adds few features. * I'll be away of the web from tuesday 21 to january, 3rd. But don't worry, i'll continue hacking a little bit Koha. In fact, i plan to do 3 things : - write scripts to migrate a library that will adopt Koha in 2005Q1. - write a DOC to explain deeply how to migrate datas from XX to Koha, and tune all Koha parameters (authorized values, authorities...) to have a perfectly working cataloguing tool. Will be in french, so translators fr => en are welcomed. - "copy" improved virtual shelves tools into OPAC. * On January, 3rd, for my return, unless there is a major problem appearing, i'll release official 2.2.0 !!! This date has been choosen because it will be the 5th birthday of our preferred ILS. A great date, really. TECHNICAL info : i'll create a new branch in CVS for 2.2.0 on january. Until then, please, just commit bugfixes and/of minor improvements in the HEAD branch. At least, commit NOTHING that needs a change in the DB. printing circulation slips

Hi there all! I need some guidance about printing circulation slips with Koha... Id need Koha to print a slip every time an item is issued... and, more important for our borrowers, every time an item is returned... Is there anybody printing such slips? How must I configure my Koha server so the clients could choose a printer locally connected to them? I've already created one default Printer (lpr) and turned on printing on system preferences.... and now... what? Thaks in advance! :) -- J. Asking for help

Dear Developers, I have subscribed to the koha-devel(a)lists.sourceforge.net mailing list. I have also sent the confirmation after receiving your mail dated December 13, 2004. I haven't still got a password. This is to ask your help for the following problems that we faced while testing koha system: In relation to copy cataloguing, we couldn�t check whether Z39.50 is working or not. Can you provide us sample Z39.50 Server details (hostname, port, Database, userid, password, etc.) for testing purpose. We can�t access the record that we created from the �Catalogue� interface. The system displays �Error message: Premature end of script headers: search.pl�. The system accepts the same barcode number for different materials. The system doesn�t automatically assign item barcode number. The system expects us to enter a certain number. Field 050 (Library of Congress Classification Number) is not part of the �Add Biblio� template although it is available in the parameter. Does the system perform spine label generation? If no, is there any other option to overcome this problem? Paul, Finally got around to looking at this. With version 2.0.1, I don't have Koha>>parameters??systempreferences??itemcallnumber. Can I add a itemcallnumber? What parameters or fields do I need to set so that I get the dewey # to show up in the biblio? Broken bulkmarcimport.pl

Yesterday I've was running a new import of my MARC records into my Koha server. I'm currently running Koha 2.2.0RC4, and updated Biblio.pm from the CVS yesterday. I've discovered that I was importing biblios but no Items. After reading the code of the program I've discovered that when this line ( *my ($tagfield,$tagsubfield) = &MARCfind_marc_from_kohafield($dbh,"items.itemnumber",''); *) was executed the variables *$tagfield *and* $tagsubfield* where empty, so the program was unable to load the items (don know which tag they're mapped). I've rolled back my update of Biblio.pm and everything works. I'm going to do further investigations and maybe send a patch. Andres
