Hi all Since the last update of systempreferences from CVS, my system preferences page does display anything. Reading the logs I've seen that the script now supports droplists for some values. Is there anything that needs to be changed apart from the koha files (some part of the db for example) so that the file works correctly ? Thanks Jerome

[important] copyrightdate is not loaded into biblio table

Hi Stephen, & koha-devel. for everybody : this mail is about import of copyrightdate into Koha. You can see the initial bug at http://bugs.koha.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=514 Stephen pointed that copyrightdate was not loaded into Koha-db when importing MARC records (note that the 260c was imported into MARC-DB. The problem was that it was not transfered to koha-db (the DB that is used in many places where MARC is not interesting, like opac for example). I thought it was a spydus problem, but I was wrong. 260c in MARC21 contains "dates". It means it can contain : "copyright 1968, reedited 1985, something-else 1995". (see http://www.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/ecbdimpr.html#mrcb260) The problem for importing is that copyrightdate is a *NUMBER* in koha-db. and "c1968, reedited 1985, something else 1995" is not really a number :-( So, we have 2 solutions (both being easy to code) : * modify the DB structure to have a char, and copyrightdate would be : "c1968, reedited 1985, something else 1995" in my sample. (con : Maybe a little too many info for OPAC ?) * modify the import tool to extract the 1st "date" in the string (mean, the 1st time where 4 digits are found) : "1968" in my sample. 2.0 release meeting *CHANGE*

Hello everyone, With a 2.0.0 release rapidly approaching, and a bunch of bugs needing to be found, reported, prioritized, and fixed, we're going to institute a weekly irc meeting to help handle the load. We'll meet every Wednesday at 1800 UTC in the #koha channel at irc.katipo.co.nz -- Anyone is welcome to attend, please bring your bug reports. We're making this change to help make the meeting more accessible to Paul (the 2.0 release manager), and our other European developers. I know this is very hard on the Katipans, if it proves to be too much of a hassle, we might try to alternate weeks or something. koha 2.0.0pre2 for wednesday ?

As we fixed some important bugs and had a few improvements, I plan to release a 2.0.0pre2 version wednesday 2 requests : * if you have something to commit (bug fix only please), commit it asap. * if you want me to wait a day or 2, feel free to argue (but argue. don't say "please wait", without reasons). The 2.0.0pre2 release notes should be (feel free to tell if you fixed a bug I forget !): IMPROVMENTS : --------- * checkmarc.pl : added a check on fields mapped to item marc tag (from Paul). * dramaticaly improving the speed of a MARC search in case of a A OR B search. Added possibility to search on more than 3 parameters. (from Esiee & Paul) * overdue books backported from 1.2.x (& templated) (by Chris) * some additionals check to verify a borrower can borrow a book (by Esiee) BUGS FIXED : --------- * 2 stupids & majors bug in MARC editor, due to too fast copy/paste. (fixed by Paul) * bug 479 : I have problem to assign a Sticky due date, it uses day date as year due date !!! (fixed by ?) * bug 471 : missing next / previous in itemtype admin page, in case there is more than 20 itemtypes (fixed by Paul) * bug 474 : alternate contact no more required (fixed by Paul) * bug 478 : value modification with single quote now works (in parameters section) (fixed by Paul) * bug 489 : poor file copying during install (fixed by MJR) * bug 526 : gst rate hardcoded. Moved to systempref (see SYSTEMPREFS chapter). I think the chmod doesn't need oct if it is given a number, so we should use chmod 0644, $file; rather than chmod oct(0644), $file;. Multiple acquisitions at the same time...

Hi all I've experienced a problem recently trying to add a biblio from scratch while another user was doing the same operation on the same koha server (CVS Version). The problem was the informations were mixed together. The server is configured to use MARC. The real problem is that I'd like to fix this but is unable to reproduce the error :( Is there someone out there who had the same problem ? If so, can you tell me how it happened and if you're able to reproduce it ? Thanks Jerome

Yes, you're right, that is another problem. The value stored in 082a (at least in my experience) is the suggested Dewey from LoC. The value stored in 952k is the actual Dewey the library has chosen to use -- not always the same.
