KohaAdminEmailAddress system preference is not set?

When I click the 'Update Record' link (cgi-bin/koha/opac-userupdate.pl)in the member's home screen in the OPAC, I get an error message that says "KohaAdminEmailAddress system preference is not set. Please visit the library to update your user record." Is this just a matter of a value missing from our system preferences table? -- Owen

Can the query results be retained according to session? Is Koha using any kind of stored sessions right now in the OPAC? If not, I'd hate to add another layer of complexity unless the overhead savings were significant (in terms of requerying the database). But it's a little beyond my skills to assess. -- Owen

Intranet Security

I have been thinking about the current intranet security setup whereby any staff member can access any part of the intranet. Is this the policy in the libraries that are currently using Koha? It may be important to some of the larger systems (where more than a dozen people are using the intranet) to increase the levels of password protection. My concern is less of a control issues and more of an "oops I just deleted our main branch" issue. Even adding one more layer by seperating the admin from the normal staff functions might be useful. Even better, maybe users could be added and given "permission" to access parts of the intranet. What does everyone think? Joshua

Reserves

Now that we've got a server set up with 1.9.2 and have loaded some patron data I'm seeing some of Koha for the first time: Today I'm looking at reserves. When I go to place a reserve, the first thing I notice is that it always says there is already one reserve on the item. Does that refer to the reserve I'm placing? Querying the database directly doesn't show any other reserves. Maybe just a template bug? Also: The form (in the default template) allows you to choose values for 'Reserve on this date' and 'End reserve on this date.' I assume the 'end reserve' date is the expiration date for the reserve. What is the first value? Would it be possible to build the template to show default values (today's date for the first, default reserve expiry for the second)? Submitting the form without choosing values doesn't seem to cause a problem--the entry in the database contains today's value for the reservedate, but no other date values (not sure what notificationdate, reminderdate, and cancellationdate are). It looks like a patron can't cancel or amend their own reserves. Is there a place in the intranet for librarians to view reserves (by title or patron), and make changes? -- Owen
