installing Net::Z3950

directories disappeared from cvs?

Hi, I encountered something very very strange this evening. When I tried to check in my incomplete translations, I found that the empty directories that I created last night have disappeared from CVS. Has anyone encountered this before? -- Ambrose LI Cheuk-Wing <a.c.li(a)ieee.org>

changes invisible to cvs...?

Hi, Does anyone know how to force the cvs program to discover that an encoding of a file has been channged? "recode" changes an encoding and allows for a charset to be turned into another. After the change the local copy appears as NOT changed for the cvs program. I would like to convert the polish files from iso-8859-2 into utf-8 and then recommit them. Benedict PS. The system consits of Redhat 8.0, Cervisia, cvs 1.11.2.

mysql crash...please help

While experimenting with mysql the mysqld stopped responding to root@localhost. This is probably an effect of such command: delete from user where host='localhost'; Now I get this while trying to mysqladmin: [root@localhost koha-RC1]# mysqladmin reload mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed error: 'Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: NO)' [root@localhost koha-RC1]# What to do? html::template and rawhide perl v5.8.0-83

HI all, someone on this list suggested one should install the perl version coming from the RawHide flavor of redhat if Html::template module cannot be installed on a redhat-8.0 system. I followed the instruction... After a successful compilation of the aforementioned I do, however, get the following: [root@localhost i386]# rpm -Uvh perl-5.8.0-83.i386.rpm błąd: Failed dependencies: perl(Mac::InternetConfig) is needed by perl-5.8.0-83 perl(Tk) is needed by perl-5.8.0-83 perl(Tk::Pod) is needed by perl-5.8.0-83 perl(v5.6.0) is needed by perl-5.8.0-83 [root@localhost i386]# Is this anything I can overcome with some rpm switches or I really miss important elements...? PS. I know I should go to a different mailing list with this question but I will just wait for any clue on this and then try to find a relevant mailing list. Benedict

Yesterday I was reading through the "How can I contribute" section and wondering if there is anything I might be able to do (still to be determined at the moment based on my availability and such) to help out. I might be able to help out on the graphical side of things (ie. themes) and / or perhaps some of the work around HTML::Template. My experience with Perl has mostly been around HTML::Mason and HTML::Template. I am currently the part-time web technician for the City of Port Moody and their existing site was ported over to Apache and Mason over a year ago (http://www.cityofportmoody.com) The rest of my time is spent doing contract programming and design work. I will download a snapshot of the development on Friday and try and take a look through it.
