I've set up member authentication to the OPAC as well on my demo at: http://hazeltonsec-18.cmsd.bc.ca/ You will find a "Log in" link on the main page and on the search results page. If you log in, you will be taken to a sample member preferences page. Comments welcome. Can this functionality go out in 1.2.X? Steve.

I've posted a release candidate for 1.2.2 on http://sourceforge.net/projects/koha Fixes include: * checkvalidisbn() routine fixed * upload marc records routine fixed * some improvements to installer.pl and koha.upgrade * subjectsearch.pl was missing in OPAC interface * koha.upgrade wasn't modifying the Z39.50 daemon startup scripts properly * installer.pl and koha.upgrade warn if installing a release candidate I'd appreciate any testing people could do. This is a release candidate and is not intended for production systems. Once 1.2.2 goes out, I'd like to start merging the HTML::Template code into the OPAC for 1.2.3. I have started work on this, and you can test a demo of it at: http://hazeltonsec-18.cmsd.bc.ca/ for the OPAC http://hazeltonsec-19.cmsd.bc.ca/ for the INTRANET Try searching for keyword "gr" to get a result set with 24 items. There is an item on the second page (Lorelie of the Sea) that has multiple copies in multiple branches. In the Intranet search results page, I've added a link to a script that will allow you to pick one of two templates (default or cmsd) for the output pages. Only the searchresults.pl output will be different between the two templates right now. Comments on this? Steve.

Translators

Translator volunteers.... Since people are starting to ask me for copies of the documentation for translation purposes.... We now have a list for just translation issues https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/koha-translate has information for subscribing to the list. What will be going across that list is: Docs for translation (mainly the From the K. information) Management info * Where to submit translations * Rules of thumb * new version announcements re doc.s My thought at the moment is that before Koha will "officially" support (ie, list a translation of either documentation or application) a language I'd like to see at least two active translators listed on: http://www.saas.nsw.edu.au/wiki/index.php?page=TranslationTeams At least one participant should able to cope with the technical language of librarians and UNIX installation. Please be aware if you are consenting to volunteer that you will, most likely, be asked to help the developer and support volunteers translate questions and comments as well. This is not likely to be a one time job. Eventually, those languages that are officially supported will have website space at <country code>.koha.org... currently, the only language/nation to have that status is France (fr). Those languages that continue to be supported will keep those sites, those that aren't will be turned off until the two-active-person rule is met. I, and the other Koha project members, care sufficiently for the user communities and reputation of open source in general enough to not want anyone stuck with an application they can only upgrade to a new version in the wrong language. Bonjour, nous sommes un centre de recherche interessé par l'utilisation d'un logiciel libre de gestion des bibliothèques afin de gerer un fond documentaire de notre centre. Ce fond documentaire inclut des documents en arabe.Si c'est possible je veux savoir si KOHA supporte l'Arabe ou non et Merci. Rachid.

You are talking about the full acquisitions system. There is also a simple acquisitions system which might be easier for you to use. The full acquisitions system was designed for Horowhenua Library Trust and needs some work to make it more generic. To use the "simple" acquisitions, go to the Parameters page, select "systempreferences" and edit or add the "acquisitions" variable, setting it to "simple". The installer.pl script uses simple acquisitions by default, so I'm guessing that you installed manually.
