Chinese Translation

Dear Sir, We are looking for a chinese library system. And we found that Library is very powerful. Can I ask is there any available Chinese Koha version? if not, can we do so and what should we do? Koha2.0.0pre2 bugs etc (continued :-)

Chris suggested mailing bugs etc. to the koha-devel list, so here they go: Easy ones: 1. There is no message when a reserved book is being returned 2. There are no messages when issuing more books than allowed for a member with a given membership category 3. moremember.pl has a dead link to cancel-requests.gif 4. moremember.pl shows "Fee:$30/year, Paid" for members with a category having a joining fee of $0 5. Some inconsistancies on the admin/systempreferences.pl: autoBarcode=Yes, yet autoMemberNum=1. It would be nice if all valid options were shown when modifying a given variable Hard ones: 1. I have reinstalled 2.0.0pre2 a few times and only ONCE my mainpage.pl looked like the one at hlt.katipo.co.nz. All the previous installs were missing text entry box for the catalogue search and the link to 'Advanced search'. I know these things are deterministic..., but I have screen shots to prove it. I have verified all files in /etc/local/koha/ to be the same for the above two cases. My httpd.conf file was also the same. Any clues? 2. All entries of the parameters table (admin/systempreferences.pl) went blank. Koha.systempreferences table was indeed empty. Had to reinstall Koha to get it back. Don't know why. Happened twice. A note for the koha manual. A warning for incompetent people as myself to make sure they do not set "Check for newer versions of stored pages" to "Never". I have set it by mistake and I could not add any members. PS. Again I'm not using Bugzilla so appologies for reporting 'old' bugs. Best regards Tomasz Kotula

Item type images

I can't seem to get the item type images to show up in my opac-detail template. They're working on the Horowhenua site: http://opac.library.org.nz/cgi-bin/koha/opac-detail.pl?bib=4069 ...And I've altered itemtype-image.inc to reflect our library's item types, but I'm still getting nothing. It doesn't work when I load the vanilla template either, which makes me think the problem's in the perl script. Can anyone verify this? -- Owen ---- Nelsonville Public Library Koha 2.0.0-pre2-R2

Opac Detail

How hard would it be to get opac-detail.pl to return more data? Right now it looks from the template like it gives you: title subtitle author subject copyright date biblionumber and holding information. It'd be nice to have more information at the disposal of template-writers. datelastborrowed field in table items

Konnichiwa minasan, it seems that the field datelastborrowed in the table items is not used, although it could be useful, especially for reports. Is there an equivalent field somewhere else which is used? if not, why not use it? The fix would involve the circulation.pl script and the C4::Circulation::Circ2 module, particularly the issuebook subroutine. As I'm leaving for a place with no network nor computers in a few hours, I probably won't be able to see your answers, so please fix it if you think it's useful. BTW, about the report engine, i made something that would work if we could use this field for the "monitoring the collection" section of Nicolas Morin's draft. It should be released in a few hours before i leave the office, I guess (hope) pate will inform you about the location of the scripts and templates, as i still don't know where to upload them. Hello everyone, it seems like it's about time for another of my infrequent newsletters. Quite a few things have taken place recently, and I want to make sure everyone is 'in the loop'. Most importantly, we're coming very close to a 2.0.0 release. The bug counts are down: 'must fix' 6 'should fix' 27 'might fix' 3 While a couple of new bugs get reported a week, the developers are still making progress. Part of our approach to 2.0.0 includes a beta testing cycle. That's already begun, and we're currently on release 2.0.0pre2. Paul is away for a couple of weeks, but I'm anticipating that he'll make another 2.0.0pre release shortly after his return. In other development news, we have two new features that are being held out of the main distribution while 2.0.0 stabilizes, rssKoha and ldapKoha. These are being distributed as separate packages so that people can see them and start working with them. At some point after the official 2.0.0 release, they will be merged into the main distribution. rssKoha is a system that allows a Koha system to syndicate RSS feeds based on data from the system. This will allow a library to begin publishing data to users through a different path than the OPAC. Good examples might be a list of the most recently acquired DVDs, or a list of the most requested/reserved mystery novels. ldapKoha allows a Koha system to authenticate users from an existing LDAP server. This feature should be particularly interesting to corporate or academic libraries. This feature was developed by the students at ESIEE (http://www.esiee.fr) More information about these (and other news about Koha), please take a look at http://www.kohalabs.com/news/ -- translations of stories are currently being provided in English, French, and German (Spanish should follow soon). The final bits of news involves two more libraries picking up Koha! The Ecole des mines de Paris (I've been told that they're comparable to MIT in the US) has decided to begin working with Koha. The doxulting company (a Library systems consulting firm) and Paul Poulain will be working with them during this process. The University of Buffalo is going to start using Koha in some of its Library Information Systems courses. The students will be installing, testing, and reviewing Koha at first. Hi everybody how are you.... I really need your help, i have i big problem and i dont kwon that can i do! I have koha 123 for windows!!!!! I made a modifys in koha 123 for the system accept my own card numbers and work fine. I had replace my hard disk, and i copied the all folder koha123 of the USR folder in windows. When i reaplace my hd i installed koha123 and i replaced the folder with the copied before, and when i log in the koha and i try create a new memmber the system not accept my own cardnumers if i made the system accept my own cardnumbers what happend? why? if we correct the mistake before and the system was worked fine? and i replace the all system with the old that i have copied. Please i dont kown what can i do? and i think that you can help me.... please Thanks Javier
