How to make self-referential URLs in Koha

Hi all, With some recent code, I've been using creating self-referential URL in Koha using CGI->url(), and passing it as a value. With CGI, the URL is correct (ie starting with /cgi-bin/koha). With Plack, it's not, because the OPAC is mounted as "/opac". I worked around this by rewriting the self-referential URL in my code, but I was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts on this. I've noticed there are a few places in Koha where we use CGI->url() and I'm guessing we may have unexpected bugs in Plack-enabled Koha as a result. Of course, one workaround would be to have /opac and /intranet aliases or URL rewriting in Apache, so that the self-referential URLs created by Plack still end up resolving. I wonder if that's the easiest path forward. In the past, I have wondered if we could get rid of "/cgi-bin/koha" as a path prefix all together (especially as cgi-bin scares security tools), but it's so deeply embedded in Koha at this point that it seems a huge task to replace it. Embed see-from headings (authorities) into bibliographic records at OAI repository level

Hi all, An enhancement idea : It could be interesting to enrich the bibliographic records exposed in OAI with see-from headings, this would allow users who use koha with a discovery tool to be able to manage, normalize and index some authorities data ? This is something that could be done directly in C4::Biblio::GetMarcBiblio following the same method used for embedding items. We could use an optional parameter like embed_items (embed_seefromheading) and a function similar to C4::Biblio::EmbedItemsInMarcBiblio by reusing what was made for zebra with EmbedSeeFromHeadings (bug #7417 <https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=7417>). Replacement of mailman (mailing lists)

Hi devs, Should we keep the historical mailing list or move to something modern, like discourse or flarum? Is it something: - we really want/need - we don't want/need - neat we could have Currently the lists are not maintained (messages are not reviewed/no moderation), the mailman version is old, looks like there are a lot of email bounding, etc. Asking for koha-devel first. Koha Improvement idea for the Task scheduler feature

Kia ora Everyone, I had a look at the Task scheduler in our version of Koha (20.11) and have a few improvements in mind: [cid:image001.png@01D78F90.E83EC790] By Adding a "when to send" dimension it would become possible to use the Task scheduler for repetitive (cron) reports.. E.g. We use our local task scheduler to send picking lists to staff to have books picked that have reservations/holds and that are to be transferred from the library to another branch. These below are the main "when to send" values available to pick from in our local service doing similar job as Task scheduler: case "OnRequest": case "OnContentChange": case "OnContentChangeOnceDaily": case "OnContentChangeEveryHour": case "WDOnContentChangeEveryHour": (WD = Week days - Mon-Fri) case "WDOnContentChangeEveryHour0717": case "OnContentChangeEveryHour0720": case "OnContentChangeEveryMonday": case "FirstDayEveryMonth": case "FirstDayEveryQuarter": case "EveryMonday": case "EveryTuesday": case "EveryWednesday": case "EveryThursday": case "EveryFriday": case "EverySaturday": case "EverySunday": case "EveryWorkDay": case "EveryDay": The options using "OnContentChange" all uses crc32 checksums of the report content to validate if the report content has changed from last run or not. Built-in offline circulation interface

Does anyone use it? The one enabled by the AllowOfflineCirculation system preference. I don't think the core functionality of the feature has been touched since its original introduction and I'm concerned that it either doesn't work or is too fragile to be used in production. I'm not asking because I'm thinking of using it but because I'm concerned about us promising users that it works. Can we add HTML classes to add semantic to elements when writing automated UI tests?

Hi :) I'm writing an UI test for creating a club to later use it for holds. In the page /cgi-bin/koha/clubs/clubs.pl There is the button "New club" , I would like to click on it but it has nothing in the classes or id that tells it's this button. I could use a vague and fragile in the long run selector like ".main .dropdown-toggle" and comment explaining what it is. Or I could add a class like "new-club" to the <button> Maybe there is a way I missed to have a readable, concise and durable way to click on the dropdown button but the question will still stand for a future case way there won't be such a way. Also maybe there is better class name than "new-club". The naming practice is also an important question. Cheers, -- Victor Grousset/tuxayo

Hello koha-devel, I'm happy and proud to announce that Fridolin, from BibLibre, will apply as RM for the 22.05 release. It's been a too long time since BibLibre was taking the lead (Koha 3.10, in 2013 ! ), so we'll fix that ;) Frido will have 3 days a week dedicated to this task (if he's elected, of course).
