Losing biblio.author in 3.8.5

We have a [rather important, it's for donors' tax receipts] report that includes: SELECT items.barcode AS Barcode,items.dateaccessioned AS 'Acc Date', biblio.title AS Title, biblio.author AS Author,biblioitems.publishercode AS Publisher,biblioitems.publicationyear AS Year, biblioitems.editionstatement AS Edition, items.price as FMV, etc etc etc It worked perfectly from 3.6.1 up to and including 3.8.4 Since we upgraded to 3.8.5 (24 Sep, to fix bug 8520), something has changed -- biblio.author systematically comes up empty (all 245$a fields are present) while *all* the other field are perfect. (added later: just checked some other reports that use biblio.author -- same result, other fields are good, author fails.) I've looked around release notes and bugs without finding anything relevant, and am now at a loss as to what I should look for. Any suggestions warmly accepted. Thanks and regards, Paul

New index in zebra : need to edit DOM indexing configuration files?

Hello I want to make a bug in Bugzilla to add some index in unimarc record.abs that are currently lacking (ex : 608, genre-form subject) What should I do with the DOM indexing conf file (biblio-koha-indexdefs.xml) : - nothing ? - editing the file manualy ? (but the comment lines "record.abs line xxx: melm xxx" would be wrong) - rebuilding them with misc/maintenance/convert_record_abs_to_dom.pl ? Koha Live CD for testing

Dear Friends, I just uploaded Koha Live CD for the review by community. https://sourceforge.net/projects/kohalivecd-lite/ Live CD build on Madbox Linux, http://madbox.tuxfamily.org/. <http://madbox.tuxfamily.org/> Madbox is based on Ubuntu 12.04 and OpenBox desktop, very light weight and fast. Total size of Koha Live CD is 690 MB. I think this size is convenient for downloading. I have added a Readme file which mentioned passwords and important information regarding the Live CD. I added an automatic backup script. It will take hourly back up of Koha DB. I also build another Koha Live DVD based on Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop based on gnome-shell desktop. Its size is about 900 MB. In my opinion, one of the problems of creating an "opac-any" index in zebra is that many of the fields and subfileds in MARC are not meant to be shown to the public, and indexing them confuses things. If they don't appear in the opac, yet do appear in the search results, the patron is left wondering why. There is also the problem that Koha doesn't have a way of dealing with indicators, such as the "traced" or "untraced" in the 490, for example. For a record that has minimal cataloging it may not be a problem, but with a fully cataloged record, it would pull up a lot of false results. Packages from master, and new dev packages

So I've finally convinced packages to build from master again. At the moment, the only patch required that's not already in master is the one on bug 8636, and that's just because I had to make a change to it today. You can find these in the squeeze-dev repo. Additionally, and of particular interest to koha-devel is the addition of two new packages: koha-deps and koha-perldeps. Koha-deps depends on things like apache and mysql-client, but not the perl modules. Koha-perldeps is similar, but it only contains the perl-related dependencies. Put these two together and it's like having a full koha-common install, but without koha itself ending up on your disk. This'll hopefully make setting up developer environments a little easier.
