Marc Extract and subject headings

I am doing a full MARC extraction and with the subject headings am seeing: $9 with numbers. I don't see a way to strip that off unless I do it somehow after the extraction. This is messy for those of us sending to another utility like Biblios or OCLC. =650 \1$aAnimal sounds$vFiction.$9195874 =650 \1$aBedtime$vFiction.$9195875 =650 \1$aStories in rhyme$9195872 Any suggestions or is this a bug needing to be reported looking for an enhancement? Koha-3.0.3 Stable release

Hi, Some of you might have encountered some problems with 3.0.2 release opac-reserve and holds-transfer-slip was not in tarball. So we are very happy to announce Koha3.0.3 Stable, which fixes those bugs has been released on http://download.koha.org/ Its name is koha-3.00.03.tar.gz You can download file and signatures You can check the integrity of the package; either by verifying the provided GPG signature (.sig) or by comparing the MD5 checksum: 6c7761b26cbc3e515e225e862907944a koha-3.00.03.tar.gz I have also tagged this in Git as "version 3.00.03" v3.00.03 You can download. An extract of release notes is pasted below This release is bugfix only of 3.0.2 release, and doesnot include any new feature. It doesnot add any databases change from 3.0.2. The next release scheduled in July will include features which are now in master but not ported yet to stable because of database change required. That is to say mainly many content enhancement were not integrated Librarything, Syndetics, Baker&Taylor, Babeltheque, and BranchTransferLimits. But we are willing to make them into the next release which will come out as soon as possible in July. Ok I thought I checked all the Barcode Types but may have done it with Acrobat 9 and not the others. So it is now working. I have the text info centered but the barcode stays justified to the left, is there a way to center that as well? Thanks! Ed Edward J. Switching computers

Hello, I created a koha library on a my computer but i want to put it on another computer and someone told me to simply " dump your MySQL database on the old computer and load it on to the new one. If you install Koha on the new computer and point it and the database you have just loaded, everything will work fine. " i tried this but it didn't work. after i installed MySQL i dumped my old MYSql folder where the new one was and then i installed Koha but it didn't work as it says there is a already a koha records. can someone help me? just incase i didn't do it right how do i point koha to the Mysql database correctly? Barcode Not Found

Good afternoon all. Brief History for that have not seen my other posts. We are trying to migrate to Koha from Follett, when biblio info is exported from Follett the barcodes have zeros add in place of a space, T 12345 comes out as T0012345. I updated my records and re-import the barcode field and but when I try to check out a book it tells me barcode not found. I have be trying some different thing with Mike Hafen. We have come to find that Koha is reading the barcode correctly but just isn't finding it in the DB. We have found that the DB is pretty much set to latin1 as the character set but when I created the DB I select UTF-8 and I also converted the export data from Follett to UTF-8. Do I need to change the char set for the whole MySQL or is that a non-issue. I really have like this product but out librarians have said they will not re-barcode because on average they have 16k+ items that they would have to change. I am at wits end with this issue and I would hate to be able to use Koha because it is everything we want except for this issue. If anyone has seen this before please let me know your thoughts. Adding a "Skip to content" link to the staff client pages ?

Dear Koha developers, I'd be interested in making Koha's staff client more accessible. One feature that would help is the "Skip to content" links that many of you probably know. I wonder whether you would be interested by such a feature and, if you are, how you think it could be implemented. One possibility would be to add a link in the header.inc file. However, there does not seem to be a target that would work for all the pages, so one may have to add one on purpose. It's probably a lot of work, since there are, if my counts are correct, 361 pages for the staff client. However a lot of them are for the help part, so maybe there is some uniformity among them that may help. Also, if the community is interested in such a feature, once it has been discussed how to implement it, the work can probably be shared among several persons. Of course I'm willing to be part of the team, if needed. Best wishes to all and thanks for the excellent job your guys are doing. Sébastien.

Multiple installs of Koha on same server

I need a bit of a sanity check here before I get going and find myself in too much trouble. I would like to have 2 installations of koha on the same server. This would require two koha databases and two koha web directories. I would be doing some virtual hosting to accomplish this. Do I need two installations of zebra? Koha 3.0 + cannot add item in koha

Hi, I cannot add items in my koha server. The full process is like this: Step 1: I have uploaded a marc file --> done Step 2: I have "import into catalog" --> done *Step 3: Now, if i search this item by Author or Title or ISBN, my server cannot find that one. That means, searching is not working here. So, the result is, i cannot "ADD ITEM" from here.* -- Best, Zico
