Hi Savitra I know nothing of defining a new zebra-index etc, but... have you started debugging your zebra problem using 'yaz-client' first? that way, you eliminate Koha as being a possible cause of your problem (which i suspect it is too ;) ) Mason

Staging of import stalls

Good Morning All I am trying stage my MARC import data but it keeps stalling. I broke it down into 4 individual files of about 4000 records each. But it still stalls at about 15%. Has anyone had this issue? Can it be done from the terminal instead of through the browser? Every time I start the process it pins my cpu at 95 to 100% which is why it is probably stalling but not sure why. My Config ---------------------------------- Ubuntu 8.1 1.5gb memory Pentium 4 - 2.5ghz dual core Koha 3.0 NoZebra Basic LAMP install Any thoughts would be great. Thanks Ed Edward J. Authority in Koha 3 (English - Unimarc - NoZebra)

Hi to all, I have found a but into installer data for Unimarc / English language. I'm using a NoZebra setting and I think this option is importan for this bug. The setup of Authority is based on the file installer/data/mysql/en/marcflavour/unimarc/mandatory/authorities_normal_unimarc.sql But this definition gives problems, see my e-mail "Problems on working with authority" in koha general list, 05 Jun 2008 09:14. A correct defintion is the frence definition. Probably the main problem is to insert authtypecode = '' into all records of tables auth_tag_structure and auth_subfield_structure. I think that the frence defintion could be good also for English Unimarc definition. My authority defintion (a transaltion of franch definition into english) is attached to this mail. Errors trying to import records from Z39.50

I have Koha 3.0 on Ubuntu 8.04.1 While manual cataloguing works okay as well as importing MARC records from a file, we are unable to import "good" MARC records from Z39.50 servers 1) We can't import MARC records from a Z39.50 search. For e.g., i just search for "Great Expectations" from Library of Congress and attempt to import, and i get the error below. This error occurs for pretty much any book. Koha error The following fatal error has occurred: Can't call method "add_subfields" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/cataloguing/addbiblio.pl line 141. Apache Server version: Apache/2.2.8 (Ubuntu) Server built: Jun 25 2008 13:51:29 Koha 3.00.00.107 Koha DB 3.0000107 MySQL mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.51a, for debian-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline 5.2 OS Linux biblioteca 2.6.24-19-xen #1 SMP Sat Jul 12 00:15:59 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux Perl 5.008008 Error URL: ========= https://URL_TO_KOHA/cgi-bin/koha/cataloguing/addbiblio.pl?biblionumber=0&z3… Any thoughts or ideas? Using date functions in report SQL

Does anyone have some examples of using date functions like currdate() and month() in report SQL statements? Is this possible in Koha reports? MARCEdit Error

Has anyone that is using MarcEdit ever received an Error Number: -99 when trying to use the MarcMaker option? It worked the first time I used it but now it isn't working and keeps giving me this error. The export my catalog the same way as the first time. Any ideas? Thanks Ed Edward J. Clarify timeout syspref?

Can someone clarify the timeout system preference? In the 3.0.x manual site, it says Inactivity timeout for cookies authentication (in seconds). This preference applies to both the staff client and the OPAC. Default Value: 12000000 If I'm doing the math right, the default value translates to an extremely large number of hours. Is seconds right for this value? Or should it be milliseconds? If seconds is correct, can someone give me background on why the default is so large, and why the manual says it shouldn't be changed after installation? MARC fields order

Hi, I do have an Koha installation that has a strange problem. The MARC Fields are not numerically ordered. For example, here are my 500s fields: 504 - BIBLIOGRAPHY, ETC. NOTE + - 508 - CREATION/PRODUCTION CREDITS NOTE + - 521 - TARGET AUDIENCE NOTE + - 522 - GEOGRAPHIC COVERAGE NOTE + - 524 - PREFERRED CITATION OF DESCRIBED MATERIALS NOTE + - 530 - ADDITIONAL PHYSICAL FORM AVAILABLE NOTE + - 533 - REPRODUCTION NOTE + - 538 - SYSTEM DETAILS NOTE + - 541 - IMMEDIATE SOURCE OF ACQUISITION NOTE + - 546 - LANGUAGE NOTE + - 555 - CUMULATIVE INDEX/FINDING AIDS NOTE + - 556 - INFORMATION ABOUT DOCUMENTATION NOTE + - 562 - COPY AND VERSION IDENTIFICATION NOTE + - 563 - BINDING INFORMATION + - 583 - ACTION NOTE + - 585 - EXHIBITIONS NOTE + - 586 - AWARDS NOTE + - 500 - GENERAL NOTE + - 501 - WITH NOTE + - 505 - FORMATTED CONTENTS NOTE + - 511 - PARTICIPANT OR PERFORMER NOTE + - 518 - DATE/TIME AND PLACE OF AN EVENT NOTE + - 520 - SUMMARY, ETC. + - 526 - STUDY PROGRAM INFORMATION NOTE - As you can see, the 500 field has a lot of other fields before it. Various encoding

Hi there, My database currently contains 2 type of encoding for the same characters. For example, I have Québec encoded as QueÌbec and another as QuÃ©bec. The problem was probably related to the import of records from 2.2.9 vs the one imported through z39.50. Can anybody suggests a way to fix that inconsistency? Thanks, Eric
