Hi, Has anybody worked on a link resolver integration to Koha? Did you have any contact in this direction with academic libraries? An open source piece of software like CUFTS seems to be well suited for such an integration: http://cufts.lib.sfu.ca/ Any idea on the subject? Thanks. -- Frédéric

Test koha-git repository

I have created a temporary koha git repository from CVS at git://serene.ttllp.co.uk/opt/koha.git/ which you may like to test. Apologies for the ugly name. The repository updates from CVS around 15:00 UTC daily. There is a HTTP copy available - please ask. It's nasty to use, but it can slip through more firewalls. An initial download with a command like git clone git://serene.ttllp.co.uk/opt/koha.git/ koha-git downloads about 35Mb of repository. For comparison, the CVS repository is 260Mb, but you download only about 5Mb and use 45Mb of disk for each checkout you work on. If you want to work on another branch with git, you can switch with git checkout or clone your local repository and avoid another download. Please work on local branches and not one of the CVS-created branches, else it might get very messy when you next run "git pull" or similar. To work on a local branch, first find the remote branch with git branch -r or a tag with git tag -l then check it out with something like git checkout origin/rel_2_2 and you might get a note which suggests to make a local branch from that with a command like git checkout -b my-22 To check where you are, use git show-branch. Check the man. Note that the above commands may or may not work with git 1.4. If unsure, check man git before running. Check Out Problems

Hi, I have just installed Koha (Windows). When I go to checkout to a patron, it works, but when something is checkout to the patron, they can't view there account online. But the instant its checked back in, they can view there account. What is wrong? I have koha version 2.2.8 Thanks! Casey rosenbergcj(a)gmail.com

Hi gang, I just spent a few minutes troubleshooting some encoding issues in one of my Koha installs and noticed we're still using the guessencoding and guesstype routines in Output.pm in both rel_2_2 and HEAD. I'd suggest we switch to using the encoding listed in the systempreference or else, for HEAD, just hardcode as UTF-8. I'm guessing hardcoding would be the most efficient for HEAD since 3.0 is going to be all UNICODE anyway. Any thoughts? Okay... desktop A creates a child for the adult created at desktop A? or child for the adult created at Desktop B? When does this all happen? at the same time? One problem with koha, i recall... may be fixed now.. is that books cannot be entered in via more then one computer at a time... else the new biblionumbers and biblioitemnumbers and item numbers get mixed up.. unless you create new numbers as late as possible. Could it be that the webbrowser is given something to do? cookies? Library network with 2.2.9, strange problem...

Hello koha-developpers, I have a public network (2 branches atm, 11 when all will be deployed) that are using Koha (2.2.9, with default templates, french) They face a really strange problem : desktop A creates an adult borrower, desktop B creates an adult borrower, destktop A creates a child from the previous created adult and ... the child and adult created from desktop B are mixed, everything is unuseable. Desktop A and B dans be in the same branch or in 2 different branches, the result is the same. Logins are differents on both desktops. Koha Developers' IRC Meeting

Hey gang, Well our community has grown quite a bit this year, with lots more libraries using Koha and contributing additional features. As we grow, communication becomes even more critical. Paul, HDL, Chris and think it's time for a group Developers' meeting on IRC. The main topics will likely be: 1. General developer news 2. Koha 3.0 -- what's left to do before we release? 3. Koha 2.2 -- bugfixes vs. new features 4. OpenCataloger -- a new MARC editor developed by toins and paul So, if you'd like to attend such a meeting please send me an email off-list with the best day/time in a typical week. I'll compile the answers and propose some dates.
