strange problem with passing $dbh value

I need a clue... I'm having a problem with import of bulk MARC records. We just moved all the Nelsonville Library Koha stuff to a new machine on Sunday, where we are now using the new 2.0 release. (Our old production machine had a pasted together collection of Koha stuff, some of it 7 months old.) In the process we also moved our MARC import script. Now something weird is happening. When I try to run the script as any user other than root, it fails because the bulkmarcimport call to the &MARCfind_marc_from_kohafield function in Biblio.pm is not passing the $dbh value. So Biblio.pm throws a 'no database' error: DBD::mysql::st execute failed: No Database Selected at /usr/local/koha/intranet/modules//C4/Biblio.pm line 258. (same error happens later in the script at Biblio.pm line 858) If I "su" to superuser and try running the script again, it works. (On our old machine, it worked either way.) The script is getting the value of $dbh from Context.pm without any problem. It just doesn't seem to pass the value to Biblio.pm unless the script is run by the superuser. All the Koha module permissions look OK (755) -- although that shouldn't even be a factor. I don't think this is a bug, I think I'm just overlooking something. Hi, I have checked new plugin based frameworks for reports in CVS head. Koha 2.0 has been released!

After a two year cycle of intense development efforts Koha 2.0 is now being released! Early release copies of Koha 2.0 have been deployed in libraries in France and the United States for over 6 months. With this new release, we expect Koha to be deployed in many more libraries around the world. Koha 2.0 is a major upgrade to the Koha 1.2 system, including features like: a fully templated web interface, translation tools and translations into french, chinese, and polish, and best of all ... full integration with MARC (both UniMARC and MARC21). Koha 2.0 can be downloaded from http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=16466 With this release, we're making a change in the release managment for Koha. Paul Poulain, who managed the development of Koha 2.0, will be turning over the ongoing management of the 2.0 version to MJ Ray. Paul won't be sitting idle though, he will become the manager of Koha 2.2 development. Congratulations, and good luck, to both MJ and Paul. Hi, i've commited 2 new reports on cvs (HEAD). They are based on a report standard structure that could be used to easily extend & create new reports. NPL : Let me know if the report of issues gives correct results in correct times. Z39.50 javascript issues?

Hi all, Hope this question isn't out of place on this mailing list. I've recently been asked to help deploy a test koha site for evaluation by a local church library. The installation of koha 2.0.0 on Debian/sarge seems to have gone quite nicely (though there needs to be a Debian package for it so I don't have to answer so many questions, hmm ;), and I'm ready to start trying to populate the database with test data using the z3950 query tool (AIUI, this library doesn't have an existing electronic catalog, so this seems to be the most effective way for them to populate their database if they decide koha meets their needs). When I click the 'z3950 search' button on the intranet cgi-bin/koha/acqui.simple/addbiblio.pl page, I get only the following javascript error: document.forms[0].field_value has no properties In http://quetz:8080/cgi-bin/koha/acqui.simple/addbiblio.pl, Line 412, Sure enough, I don't see anything to indicate field_value is a valid form element on this page. Hopefully the z3950 support in 2.0.0 was tested before release, and I'm overlooking an easy fix for this javascript error? Please cc: me on any replies, as I'm not subscribed. Hi my name is Jose and i'm new in Koha, I instaled Koha under windows as a test, i'm doing a project for my university about migraiting the actual library sistem (isis db) into Koha, and I want to know, what to do after using isis2xml software how do I get to see de data in Koha do I have to to add it to a MySQL db? or what? Please if u can help me, hope u understand my question, I'd be very greatfully if u help me on this, thanx, peace and lets keep going on this.

Hi, In CVS head, i've commited some nice new things : * shelves in OPAC (the css one, that will become the default one for 2.2) * mix of marc & simple search in MARC search. Now the search can be build only by using MARCsearch.pm and the MARC tables. The result should be indexed in any case & can have complex requests. pls test it. In the log, the exact SQL query is shown. With a "explain" just before, in a mysqladmin or phpmyadmin, you can see if it's always indexed. * The "seealso" can search in fields "related to" the main one. For example, author can now search in 700a,701a,702a. I agree the "seealso" is a poor term that is usually used for something else. catmaintain.pl

I'm having two problems with catmaintain: First, catmaintain.pl doesn't use templates, as far as I can tell. It seems to call C4::Output::startmenu, which is apparently broken. Should I remove that function and rewrite anything using it? Possibly related, some browsers go to /cgi-bin/koha/search.marc/search.pl?type=intranet, click on "Cat Maintenance" and end up at /cgi-bin/koha/maint/<!-- TMPL_VAR name= which 404s. Why? Bug 600 is the original problem, which no-one was interested in. In bug 721, Ambrose says catmaintain is templated. Does it fix the second problem too? Hi, I started converting CDS/ISIS datas into Koha-2.0.0RC4 My libraraian requires more reports. Now I am about to start writing a perlscript for that. But recently when I checked out Koha CVS (rel_2_0 branch), I have seen one more report (inventry) in that. If anyone working on more koha reports, I can wait for sometime or contribute code. I just started learning perl, anyway here are the details of four reports which I am planning to create for my librarian. C4::Reports (perl module for reports) cgi-bin/koha/reports/checklist.pl?list=issues (Daily issue report, my librarian use : Issue Check List) cgi-bin/koha/reports/checklist.pl?list=renewals (Daily renewals report) cgi-bin/koha/reports/checklist.pl?list=returns (Daily returns report) cgi-bin/koha/reports/statistics.pl (daily statistics) Check List Output : Barcode Cardnumber Borrowername Borroweraddress output of daily statistics will decide later.
