I think that with instructions over email or from the net, I may be able to set this up (and then maybe even assist other libraries who'd like to install Koha ;) ). Hi, Now that the css template is the default for Intranet module in Koha, how can I reuse the default_intranet_pl_PL.po file? Will ./tmpl_process3.pl update -i .../en/css suffice to keep already translated strings, and allow me to continue with it? Thanks Benedict

I've been watching Koha for a little while now, and finally my wife told me to just install it, because she wants to use it. As she reads books, she wants to keep track of which ones she likes, so she can check them out when our two-year old gets to that reading level. So now we've got a working Koha system on her computer. I've noticed already a few things I'd like to tweak, so I can use it more comfortably. I am downloading from CVS right now. Is there a way to run Koha directly from the CVS tree? Any quick start pointers? I figure I can leave plain Koha on my wife's machine, and put the CVS version on mine, both running off her database. I'm a Perl programmer by trade, with a lot of my time spent re-writing modules to increase stability, efficiency, and readability (at least, I understand it better when I'm done). That's mostly what I'd like to do here. First off, I'd like to get Z39.50 searching a little nicer. Part of that might just be clearer documentation. (I'm having problems finding some ISBN numbers in the Library of Congress, even when they have a LC call number, so it would be nice to be able to search on that as well, or know which other servers I should be looking at.) And so when I search by title and get lots of records with the same title, it would be nice to have a few more columns to differentiate between them, like date published, or LC call number if there is no ISBN. I would also like to allow the use of Net::SMTP, rather than Mail::Sendmail, and perhaps the DateTime suite rather than Date::Manip. I would also like to be able to use DBD::Pg, rather than DBD::mysql, though I am not volunteering for that quite yet. How should I go about getting changes back into CVS? Is there a contact person I need to go through? Thanks for letting me ramble. So far, Koha looks really great. It looks like you've done a good job. -kolibrie

Hi, Many thanks to Andrew Groome for solving the problem with the acquisitions module. However there is a problem when trying to modify biblios, I've made changes in the group record but for some reason is not registering it in the catalogue record etc. I've attached screen shots to show the process, note on Pge 5 that the modify/submit button image is not shown. The upgrade to Koha 2.0 has not been as smooth as I'd envisaged and I'd welcome any help/advice which will enable me to have a working system again. Hi, I would like to know who is responsible for Saas Wiki server. I need to ask whether it would be possible to not send http header with iso-8859-1 as default. It screws up characters written in UTF-8 (chinese and polish). Benedict Or perhaps there is an html instruction available to include my own header?

And minor ones : * language selection by borrower * biblio copy/paste * global modifications in catalogue enjoy ;-) (and note I now have a lot of work for some months ;-) anyone answering on koha & koha-dev ML : many thanks ) [1] is EMN related to ENSMP ? yes and no. The M means "Mines" in both cases (which means mine, like "ore-mine". Was schools specialized in mining technology. Now there are no more mines in France, those high school teaches general technology. Hello, Does anyone have ldapkoha working with an ADS LDAP? News from the CVS (future Koha 2.2)

Hi everybody, Some news of the CVS version, that will become version 2.2 (in September, wait for december for libraries that want something heavily tested). What's already done : * MARC search merged with non-MARC search. It's really more easy to use with 1 form only ! You can also order the result (by title, author, dewey, publisher, publicationyear) * Search tools have been reworked. Search on Nelsonville DB (140 000 biblios, 290 000 items) is instantaneous for searchs with a few results. The search needs some seconds when there is a lot of results. We will probably limit the number of results to 200. * The OPAC search and the librarian search have been merged. In 2.0, we sometimes had differents results, that was really not funny ;-) * Some improvements have been realised in members interface. It's mostly code reorganizing, the user should see only a few differences. * Nelsonville did a few changes on z3950 servers. * Issuing rules : the code for issuing has been completly reorganized/rewritten. The 1st goal is to be able to have issuing max & length defined for a given branch / item type / borrower type. The 2nd goal is to have a clear & documented code to be able to modify it easily. So a library with really specific rules should be able to add it's own in Koha. * The librarian interface produces better HTML code. Almost XHMLT compliant. What is decided & affected : * Cataloguing framework : a great improvement !!! In 2.2, the library will be able to define a MARC framework for each itemtype. You will be able to define a MARC form for monography, one for serials, one for CD, multimedia... Each framework will have it's own cataloguing rules. Really a great improvement !!! And fully compatible with 2.0 database * MARC authority : in Koha 2.0, authorities are poorly handled. In 2.2, full MARC support will be provided. * export of biblios in OPAC in iso2709 or human readable form, to a mail address, or by http download. * Serial module : subscribing, cataloguing... serials. important notes : * for MARC authority, functionnal needs are specified for UNIMARC. We will need some help to validate it for MARC21 too. * all the decided & affected feature described in this mail are funded by "Ecole des Mines de Paris". Hi, The MARC search has been ported to OPAC in CVS-HEAD. Some fixes have been done too. It works fine, pls test it & report any problem. IMPORTANT NOTE : The OPAC theme has been set to "css" by default in the installer. This will be the default theme in 2.2, so improvements of OPAC are done here & only here. CSS theme has a lot of advantages : * css compliant * 100% translatable * no text-images.
