call number prefix

Hi group, I noticed there's a call number prefix while cataloging a book but there's no Call Number feature in Koha tables (this is my guess). How do you cope with that in real life setup? Benedict

is opac-detail.pl buggy?

After a user reserves a book he can click on its tile and see more. ISBN number is available as clickable. If followed the system says it has not found any items by that isbn number. Benedict This question is also related to what I asked some time ago. Could ISBN search be made available to unauthenticated users for them to search by isbn?

A message could be generated during the returning of an Item in the Messages window (that's what it is there for) saying: An Item has successfully been returned (in read print). Just a suggestion. Benedict

super improvement of translation tool

Hi Group, I just wanted to thank Abrose for his latest improvement of the translation tool that uses xgettext and ./tmpl_process3. It is now a lot clearer where a given string is in a context of a template. Especially have a look at this example: * %pF %p M     <B>Date of Birth</B> (%s) %S Kbabel (translation tool for KDE) gives me a hint in a separate window like this: #. %1$p: type=radio name=sex value=F #. %2$p: type=radio name=sex value=M #. %3$s: TMPL_VAR name=dateformat #. %4$S: type=text name=dateofbirth #: /home/kb2qzv/CVS-Cervisia/koha/koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/default/en/members/memberentry.tmpl:30 #, c-format Now, this is really lot easier to translate, knowing that %p is a radio button, %s is a value of TMPL_VAR, and %S deriving from an INPUT type=text. Hi, I think there is an important difference between using the InactiveDestroy and opening a new handler in the forked process. Opening the new handler is similar to using C4::Context->new_dbh. Either way, the original handler was opened before the fork. So even if the child (forked) process does not use the original handler, it still has a reference to it which it inherited from the parent. So when the child process terminates, the system will close the original database connection. InactiveDestroy tells the system not to clean up (close) this database connection. You can still use the original connection in the child process even if you use InactiveDestroy (just don't close the database connection explicitly). Another way to do it would be to have the parent process open a new database connection after it forks a child, but it would have to do this for each child it forked. On my system, a "man DBI" and a search for "InactiveDestroy" gives some good information on this. Ben might want to try and go back to processz3950queue 1.10.2.3 and make the changes I suggested in the last email. The System we currently use refers to that group of records as an "entry collection." I do not know if that terminology is subject to copyright or not. Book Fund Field Length

I also use Fedora Core 1 with the same version of perl and mysql as you. I did the following changes to processz3950queue and the "MySQL server has gone away" and "fetch() without execute()" error messages went away. I did this to the file that came with 2.0.0RC4 but it should work with the latest file that Paul commited. Replace: my $dbi = C4::Context->dbh; with: $dbh->{"InactiveDestroy"} = "true"; Replace all references to dbi with dbh. Deric -----Original Message----- From: Benedykt P.
