Hi, I've had a problem with the z3950 search client and I've noticed that others have had a similar problem. It's the problem where the database connection is lost and reported in one of the log files. Here's what I did to get rid of the symptoms. I'm not a Koha expert, nor a Perl expert, and I usually use PostgreSQL instead of MySQL so I make no guaranties that this fix is correct, but it does stop processz3950queue from complaining the way it did and it seems to make sense that a forked process that terminates should not be using, in the default fashion, any handles that the parent process is relying on. The forked process used a new name ($dbi) for the handle, but it was the same handle. Although even using "my $dbi = C4::Context->new_dbh" instead of "my $dbi = C4::Context->dbh" would not have worked since the child still keeps the reference to the parents handle (because it was created before the fork) and this handle would be destroyed when the child terminated. At least that's how I see it. There are probably other problems because even after these modifications, the search client still did not seem to work. Replace: my $dbi = C4::Context->dbh; with: $dbh->{"InactiveDestroy"} = "true"; Replace all references to dbi with dbh. .po file, Is this one correct?

Is this one correct? The below is a paste of tmpl_process3.pl command. It would be nice to have a message at the end: ".po file generated successfully" or so... Also, is the last Warning in line 47 negligable? If not how can I fix it myself? thank you. Because of the way Add MARC works, there can't be any other form fields preceding it on the page, so the include file for that page (and some others, I think), leaves out the input boxes. -- Owen

translator spoils server setup

I think it was like this: I was translating npl_intranet.pl_PL (which I have generated via the tmpl_process.pl) and gradually updating live server with tmpl_process.pl install option. At a certain point transfers and returns sopped working. Requests and their cancellation by owner

HI group, I noticed that Requests made by user cannot be cancelled. There is no such button to do so. Kohaadmin can do that, though. Isn't it strange? A user should be able to cancel his/her own requests if he/she wished so (before reservation expires). This would give other users an opportunity to reserve an item once available. Benedict

Library name in syspreference

Hi all, What governs the size of an input box in templates? The "Library Name" input box in syspreferences should be a lot longer for an admin to see the whole expression. The explanation window is longer than it is necessary, instead. Benedict

"bump that up" question in script

the question that buildrease script asks: bump that up to 1.9.4? Is it something that a regular user should be aware of, or is it just for the mantainer? the second question it asks: What should the new release be [1.9.4]? Does it affect the tarball or a release or is it used only for the name of the newly created tarball? Is it relevant for me to put RC4 or whatever? thanks Benedict

buildrelease without update
