Koha and MARC::Record 1.25

Hi ed, I've just dl and install the last version of MARC::Record. In my error log, i get dozens of : Use of uninitialized value in hash element at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/MARC/Record.pm line 206, <fh00001env174.1.txt> line 1. I hadn't such lines before. Do you have an explanation ? This happends (at least) in the following code. The MARC data comes from an external source (various sources doesn't change anything) : In Breeding.pm : my $marcrecord = MARC::File::USMARC::decode($marcarray[$i]."\x1D"); ... my $oldbiblio = MARCmarc2koha($dbh,$marcrecord); ... I think the word you are translating as "ethnicity" may be for "language". The idea of Virtual Shelves options, with Koha and other pricey library systems, is to give a patron the sense of what he or she would see on the same shelf (same general area) of the collection as the specific title sought. Right now it includes only a few summaries and links: Roy Tenant's relevant articles, a Koha2010 thread, and a few search services that demonstrate several different approaches to information gathering. Frustrated trying to install 1.9.2

I've been defeated by the koha installation, too. This email is a summary of the problems. It's not in the bug tracker, as some of these might be my errors and no-one has answered the last bug I put there yet. This is written in the absolute, but please don't take offence: correct me. 1. I don't want to install as root. There is no need for it to install as root, is there? sudo or su could be used for the bare minimum of pieces. Mike Hansen sent me a modified installer.pl to try as a normal user. Thanks. 2. The installer has defaults marked in the opposite way to normal, I think. A prompt of (Y/[N]) is used when the default is Y. 3. It tries to write to the apache config file. I use apache2 on debian, which lets each vhost have its own config file. In any case, it should be writing a file to be Include-d in, not splatting the master config. 4. It asks for the db admin password, then tries to connect as the current user without that password to create the db, which (unsurprisingly) fails. 5. It does a very long chown with no way to avoid it. This isn't needed for some (most?) web server configurations. Sadly, I'm left without the apache config or the database, so there's not much of koha installed and no manual installation docs to work from. strange things in errorlog, (apache 2.0, Perl CGI)

Hi, I've just install a mdk9.1 (with httpd2) and written my vhost.conf file. I work on Koha (www.koha.org) that is a Perl programm (not mod_perl, but CGI). MARC::Record, yaz-2.0, Net-z3950.0.33 and some other perl packages installed. Everything works fine, except on a few pages, that shows "waiting for ..." forever. The error log only show (after 2mn): [Fri May 02 17:04:40 2003] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] Premature end of script headers: search.pl, referer: http://127.0.0.1:7777/cgi-bin/koha/acqui.simple/addbiblio.pl?oldbiblionumbe… If I close the mozilla windows, after 3 or 4 more minuts, the log is suddenly filled with dozens of : [Fri May 02 16:56:52 2003] [error] [client 127.0.0.4] Use of uninitialized value in hash element at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/MARC/Record.pm line 206., referer: http://koha.dev/cgi-bin/koha/acqui.simple/addbiblio.pl?oldbiblionumber=8 Note it occurs only on a runtime error in the module. In case of a compilation error, the error is reported immediatly as previously. It's a bug in Koha, but with my previous install (http1.3 from mdk90), The errors where reported immediatly to the error log. At the moment, it's pretty unuseable for error tracking ! What happend ? Koha and the Trophees du libre

As a bit of added excitement, it appears that Koha has made the list of finalists for the Trophees du Libre, a free software prize being awarded in Soissons, France on May 23rd 2003. There are 113 projects who are being considered for awards in 6 classifications. Koha is in the 'Applications for Public Agencies' category, where there are 20 finalists. Paul Poulain will be representing Koha at the awards ceremony. I think congratulations are in order for everybody who's contributed code, documentation, testing, or any other activities that have helped to make Koha what it is.
