Hi all, Further thoughts about the suggestion module. About the list of fields. It could be: Requiered: * author * title Other fields: * title * volume * edition * place of publication * publication date * publisher * isbn/issn The suggestions could chnge "status" along the way: suggested, selected, rejected, ordered, received. Rejected suggestions should not be deleted: one could be able to come back to it later on and reverse the rejection. When a suggested book is received by the library, it switches to "requested": set aside for the patron who suggested the book in the first place. The librarian should be able to search through the suggestions: see them by "status" (suggested, selected, etc), by date, by branch, etc. That's it for now. Using Koha from the CVS tree

Well, I got Koha up and running! I wrote a script to help me link up all the CVS directories to the installed locations. I had to steal a few files from a Koha installed from the tarball, and update my database, so I added checks for those in the script. DB design (MARC structure)

Hello all, Nelsonville & me are trying to optimize queries. I'm concluding we should modify a little the DB : * marc_word has "tag", "subfield" and "word" fields. * we are querying on /tag+subfield in ('200a','245f') and word like 'tower%'/ . Such a query CANNOT be optimised by mySQL. * so, an index on /(tag, subfield,word)/ is not used. * I think we could highly optimize the search with a field called 'tagsubfield', an index on /(tagsubfield,word)/. The search being /tagsubfield in ('200a','245f') and word like 'tower%'/. Other searches (a search on "keyword", that does is done only on word, not on tag+subfield) will still be working fast, with index on (word) Does this make sense ? How to change the default language of librarian interface

Hello, I have been working with finnish translation of Koha and now I would like to switch the default language to finnish in order to able to proofread my work. How can I do this? There's an option in preferences to change the OPAC language, but no options to change the default language of librarian interface. Matti Lassila

Translating Koha to Slovenian

Paul Polain is the release manager for 2.2 so talking to him about what you plan to work on is a good idea. Just to remove duplicated effort etc. Then there is the rel_2_0 branch, which is where the 2.0.x releases are drawn from. So bugfixing etc should be done in that branch, new features added in the HEAD. M J Ray is looking after the 2.0.x releases. So he's your best contact for work in that branch. When you've had a chat with them, (im sure they will see this message and reply). You can let myself or Pat Eyler know your sourceforge username and we'll give you write access to the cvs repository. Issuing date

Hello: I am trying to locate the issuing date for an item, but it seems that koha does not manage it, as koha works with the return date and the estimated return date (due_date). Is it right or I'm confussed?. Thank you for your help. Pablo
