Hi, I missed to ask you yesterday: what verson is your po file for? The file name indicates 3.4 or earlier. There might be a problem with the version, so you should make sure you upload the po updated for the correct version to Pootle. The po files on Pootle are always for the latest stable release of each 3.x.x. Once on pootle, the files will get updated automatically before each major of bugfix release. We have completed Turkish translation (100 %) of Koha 3.8 version. We have made the translation in our own pottle server. Could we demand that you would possibly load these translation files (which we will mail you) to the pottle server in http://translate.koha-community.org/ address? We are so pleased to finish this study which has been done before in Turkey with the coordinatorship of Selma Aslan. As Süleyman Demirel University Library, we have done with our Koha installation and we are starting to use it at this time. Adding staff file for Basque language

Hello, I have been translating some files in Basque language and I could upload them into the community site but I have realised that there is one missing. At the moment it is only possible to translate these: eu-pref.po eu-i-opac-t-prog-v-3002000.po but there is one missing: eu-i-staff-t-prog-v-3002000.po Could you tell me how to upload this file? Slovak Translation

Hello Everyone, Thanks to Koha Community and other supporters the complete Slovak translation of Koha has been made available for versions 3.6, 3.8, and 3.10. This could be of interest for any Slovak and eventually Czech library. Translators of Slovak language are welcome to join the group for future translations and proofreading. Hi Doruk, welcome to the community :) I am forwarding your mail to the translation mailing list. I checked Pootle and Turkish is already there (http://translate.koha-community.org/tr/) So I think your problem with uploading the files might be related to permissions. Uploading and merging doesn't work too well in my experience. So maybe if it's ok for the other translators you could upload your complete files there. But as there is other translation activity for this language, you should try and check with the other translators first. The po files can be updated to newer versions, this has been done on Pootle. Of course there is always some work to do, like translating the strings for new features and checking old strings where the templates got changed. But it should not be necessary to completely retranslate. As a seperate but somehow related issue, we had had tried to be active before actually but lacked communication skills I believe :). We had had packaged Koha last year for a Turkish distribution called Pardus (which resulted in us actually packaging a lot of Perl packages and other stuff) for its LTS release. The distribution is government-funded but unfortunately currently in disarray (due to political power shifts). We also had done a near complete Turkish translation of Koha 3.4 (the latest release at that time) via PO files (Kbabel, etc). Then we uploaded it to Pootle but it didn't get approved and merged (don't know why). So we published it as a patch via a web page. We're still using Koha 3.4 in our installations because of that and it's going to be a real drag to merge strings or translate from scratch. What is the correct way to make the translations? Pootle isn't really practical for everyone, especially when translating offline, that's why we had preferred PO file translation method. However we don't want to risk making another version specific translation.
