For the missing strings, they are not in the templates so cannot be part of the pootle translation. Multilingual OPAC?

We are implementing Koha for a Japanese school in the United States. We have both Japanese speakers and English speakers as users and as staff. Is there some way to create a Japanese/English bilingual translation? We plan to have a single computer running Koha while the school is open and we'd like to make it equally accessible for Japanese and English speakers without constantly swapping the language. I'm sure it could be done by creating a new "language" like Japanese/English and having both languages in the result text: Made-up example: Welcome %s: "%sさんおはよう / Welcome, %s" etc. (As you can probably tell, I'm not one of the Japanese speakers!) We have a number of edits already done in Pootle for the Japanese translation, but I'm wondering if anyone else has come up with a good way to ALWAYS display using two languages. My fantasy is to have the two translation texts show up differently: English in black 10 point Monaco font, Japanese in Green 13 pt Osaka font. I know we can provide the styling in a CSS style sheet, if we allow something like this: Welcome, %s: " %sさんおはよう / Welcome, %s " I can see that is more work, but it only would be done in our OPAC once after the regular Japanese translation is "finished" to our Japanese speaker's satisfaction. Any insights or previous experiences would be greatly appreciated. problems translating Koha to spanish

Helo! We have instaled Koha few days ago on a Debian Etch server (perl 5.8.8). It's running perfectly. Now I am trying to translate Koha to spanish following the information I've found in /koha/koha-3.00.00/misc/translator/translator_doc.txt koha:~/koha/koha-3.00.00/misc/translator# ls install-code.pl po stats.pl text-extract.pl TmplTokenizer.pm TmplTokenType.pm translator_doc.txt VerboseWarnings.pm install.pl rebuild_lang.sh text-extract2.pl tmpl_process3.pl TmplToken.pm translator_doc.html update.pl xgettext.pl When I run the script .... koha:~/koha/koha-3.00.00/misc/translator# ./tmpl_process3.pl install --input=/usr/share/koha/intranet/htdocs/intranet-tmpl/prog/en -o=/usr/share/koha/intranet/htdocs/intranet-tmpl/prog/es -s=po/es-ES-i-staff-t-prog-v-3000000.po -r -q ... I get some warnings: Charset in/out: UTF-8 at ./tmpl_process3.pl line 257. % s: Unknown or unsupported format specification I think that the first one ("Charset in/out: UTF-8 at ./tmpl_process3.pl line 257") is not really a problem, just information about locale. But the second line ( % s: Unknown or unsupported format specification) is really a warning about an error, but I don't know exactly what does it mean and wich is the solution Do you know whether it is a bug or I'm doing something wrong? Translation for koha-translate (so Chris and whoever else can help sees it, because I didn't see a reply on koha-fr yet): Is the French translation on Koha Pootle the current one, because there are still things to translate on the intranet? As I take a little time to approach v3.0, I would benefit from making some little punctuation corrections in the translation. Two applications for approving Portuguese translations

Hi all, I would like to submit two applications for approving Portuguese ("Português") translations in Pootle. The Portuguese translations are available at: http://translate.koha.org/pt/ The first application is for myself. My Pootle username is "ricardo". The second application is for my friend Rafael António. Rafael António has already translated a significant part of the "Intranet" interface (a.k.a. "Staff") for Koha 3, that I think would be a very valuable contribution to Koha. His Pootle username is "rafael". On a related note, Rafael has a PO file that he would like to upload - I think that it's exactly the PO file for the Portuguese "Intranet"/staff interface. What is the recommended way of doing that?
