Translate has a new baby and we're pretty proud of her. Many changes have gone into 2.5.0 which follows on from 2.1.6 released more then two years ago. So many changes that it's quite hard to list them all. *PS: This release was prepared at the DjangoConf sprint, but took me a little while to get the email out. The changes from 2.5.0-rc1 to 2.5.0 final are listed below.* Why so long? Well we had the Egyptian revolution<https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=%23freealaa&tbm=isch>, a complete change in UI, and a load of features we wanted you to have. It took much longer to stabilise it for you to enjoy. Pootle 2.5.0 has been in production with many users, so although it is a new official release, we've had many people running their production server off this code. This includes LibreOffice<https://translations.documentfoundation.org/>, Mozilla <http://mozilla.locamotion.org/> and Evernote<http://translate.evernote.com/pootle/>. So you are in good company. In the editor: - We follow a new approach when you edit translations, you will see a list of units that meet some criterion. - Translation Memory is displayed for the current unit – results are from Translate's public Amagama <http://amagama.translatehouse.org/>server. - Filters are easily accessible while you translate, so you can quickly change these within the translation interface. - Context rows are provided in the translation interface when you are filtering and these can be hidden or expanded. - A timeline is provided for a unit. This provides a history of the changes in translation text, state changes, translator and dates of changes. - Gravatars give credit to translators and suggesters. In the overview page: - The overview page allows you to drill down into certain types of units matching a translation state or with an error. - It is now easier to see what work needs attentions, as we highlight next actions for your project. - With editable project and language descriptions you can supply description for projects. Missing texts

Hi, I discovered a few texts, which are not included in the po-files and are thus not translated. It is: file opac-advsearch.tt, line 92: "For exampel: 1999-2001. You could also use "-1987" for everything published before 1987 or "2008-" for everything published after 2008." file masthead.inc line 49 file opac-auhorities-home.tt line 1 "Browse by author or subject" Is there a way to have them added to the po-files? -- Venlig hilsen Lars J. Translation for 3.12 using transifex (feedback)

Hello, Using transifex to translate Koha to french is a real success. Thanks to the improved ergonomy of transifex, compared to pootle, a lot of french librarians have participated to the translation (I think 6 different people, but there is no statistics about that in transifex) The more we use it, the more we like it. There is only one thing that I could not understand : how to UPDATE a translation when there are more english terms to translate. It seems you can't. The workaround I've used is: - in transifex, download the .po files for 3.12.0-beforeStringFreeze - in console ./translate update fr-FR and ./translate update en - in transifex, create new ressources and obsolete/delete old ones - create a new ressource "staff for 3.12", upload english and then upload french translation (this being done for the 4 files to translate) It's not a big deal, but not the best possible choice either. I just updated pootle with all those strings. To do so = - in transifex, download the .po files on your computer - in pootle, you must have admin permission, go to language overview (http://translate.koha-community.org/fr/312/) upload the files, choosing "Overwrite the current file if it exists". Koha Live DVD and adding new languages

Dear Friends, I tried to add 5 popular langauges (Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, French and one more) in addition to English into Koha Live DVD. I got some errors and didnt added properly. I fears that, due to this problem we are not able to add extra languages. I need someones help to solve this problem. End of string freeze is nigh

Good morning. As threatened, I am asking the Translation Manager to provide a pull request for the PO files to me on Saturday, May 18, so please get your translations in before then. It looks like we have about 22 languages that are actively being translated, of which 2 are completed, and 12 are within 10% of done. If you are trying to get your language to 100% finished, now would be a good time for a sprint. We also have three languages for which we are waiting for uploads (I think): Catalan, Czech, and Kurdish Sorani. If you have the PO files for these languages to upload, please make sure you do so by Friday. Malformed header in syspref .po file

Hello, I just opened the bug http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=10214 because I've discovered a problem in syspref.po file. This problem is symptom-less for pootle users, but transifex complains refuses to upload sysprefs.po because of a header missing.
